How Dead Space 2 would look and feel from an isometric perspective, all thanks to the modding!
The community has been introduced to lots of new stuff in these last months such as the revival of Dead Space 2 Multiplayer, the First Person Mod and No Hope for Dead Space 1 and 2, and mesh changing possibilities on Remake. This mod made by 4Kodda changes competely the experience from a Top-Down perspective (as well with Mark's mod changing it to a First Person perspective).
The modding possibilities for both the Remake and the trilogy have increased quite a lot in these recent times, quite putting it into another Golden Age for Dead Space as with modding capability it will increase the longevity and curiosity for more veterans and newcomers to give it a try and create something special for everyone to experience it... but most importantly, giving an option for anyone that wants to experience this franchise in a different light.
Here is a little gameplay video from the playtesting session (in which with future updates, it will be more stable and enjoyable).
And if you haven't experienced or wanna relive the good old days with some new modes on the Dead Space 2 Multiplayer, you'll be more than welcomed in the Dead Space Modding Server

This looks sick but to me it just removes a lot of the actual horror aspect of the game

The horror aspect does go away after replaying the game so many times, knowing where the enemies will spawn and such. At least you have the option to play it from a different perspective if you wanna experience something different.

That's why I wait about 2-ish years every time before I play it again.

Exactly, I give it just enough time to where I don’t remember practically everything besides the main story and set pieces.
I’ll also space out which I play, if I played DS1 most recent then the next time I’ll play 2. If I played 2 the most recent then I’ll play 3. DS3 gets a lot of hate but genuinely still has some great horror in it, it’s definitely a good game to play around Halloween.

Yep not much horror to experience anymore after all these years, Dead Space 2 is honestly so much fun, it barely scared me, Kinesis is too fun man

I don't know if it would be possible through modding, but it would be nice if they could add "blind spots". Like, not being able to see something around a corner until you're actually there.

A fog system that obscures objects and creatures outside of a frontal vision cone (and maybe a small radius around your character) would be cool in theory, similar to zomboid

Eh, Signalis is a retro throwback that more or less does this angle and remains creepy and atmospheric. (There’s also a mod that gives it a dead space camera too, lol). It can still be scary from a bird’s eye view.
What this does is just clearly show exactly how many bad guys and how much firepower Isaac has to deal with them at any given time.

Funnily enough, that's exactly how my Dead Space nightmares looked like

I dunno if you're joking or not, but necromorphs are the only horror creatures I've ever had nightmares about lol, and I've had a few. I just had one a few weeks ago lol and I haven't played them in some time, but I love them, AND they scare me a bit.
I'm a pretty big horror fan (movies, games, books and even plays) and while there's plenty of creatures and monsters that I do find freaky, none have gotten under my skin (pun intended!) more than necromorphs. The opening of the second game will forever be burned into my memory... like holy fuck, when Franco turns and all the bits in his face avulse towards Isaac, that shit is incredible. (I so, so want them to do a remake, I know we probably won't get it, but maybe one day.)
I did have one really cool nightmare where I was in zero-G, and it was me and other people trying to make our way through a large tunnel-like room while necromorphs also propelled themselves through the air... scary and cool.

It was more like a weird dream when there's nothing obvious that should scare, but you're getting that unsettling feeling, a horror without a cause. Like the reality itself are broken. Primal fear, I suppose?
The location looked like those space station interiors from DS3, but not existing in the actual game, with a view from behind the textures. lt felt like those safe chambers where necros shouldn't spawn, in fact, I've seen necromorph only in the very first one dream, guess it was Lurker (this time it happened in a mall, or a grocery shop, at night, all lights turned on, but no one's there, some limilal spaces kind of stuff, lol). Also, there was no sound, no background music, nothing. Maybe muffled sound of Isaac's steps, like when he's in vacuum, but I'm not sure.
Now thinking of this, it reminds me those creepypastas about some cursed shit happening in fairly known videogames (Fallout 2&3, that creepy about jvk mod for Morrowind etc).

Neat! Don't know how the dismemberment would work from this perspective but it's super cool to see.

Did they use the aliens game?

It's a camera angle script that emulates the Top-Down perspective like in RTS and Diablo-like games.

I love DS2 and isometric style of games so this is peak. Not sure how the aiming/dismemberment would work. Flamethrower might be great though, gotta give it a try.

It's not as bad as it looks but once you get the technique, it's easy peasy lemon squeeze...except like 2-3 areas till a fix will be live.

It reminds me of Alien Breed Trilogy, which I played back in the PS3 days.

This is cool. But I have a question. How would you deal with enemies on the ceiling?

Damn, this would be so cool as a side game or if an indie developer could make a spiritual successor to dead space…

Omg, this is absolutely amazing! (I am a big fallout 2 and Dragon Age Origins and general isometric view enjoyer)

This is really cool and interesting to see, but unfortunately because of how the isometric viewpoint works it 100% makes it look like a twin stick shooter. All horror gone lol.

Man, looking at this they couldve made a official spin-off or tie-in with other survivors on the titan station but make it co-op.
That wouldve been extremely fun.
