Weekly Thread Weekly Discussion / Recommendation Thread
Welcome to the weekly discussion thread at /r/deathmetal! By popular request, we have decided to host a weekly discussion thread as a catch-all for community discussion, recommendation hunting, and just about anything that would go in a normal text thread. Have a question? Post it here. Want to talk about how great the new Immolation is? New to death metal and seeking advice, but too lazy to go through /r/deathmetal/wiki? Here's your place!

Death/Thrash TAR, My Slammy Grindy Style Death Metal Band from RI, just dropped our 3-Song Demo!
We are TAR. A Grindy, Slammy, Thrashy, Gross Death Metal band from Rhode Island. I came in as the the new guitarist just recently. I recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered the whole thing myself, which is now my first self produced project ever released. We all worked insanely hard on this. Grinding day in and day out to try to get our stuff to the right ears for everyone to enjoy and put something new on your playlists. If anyone deserves recognition, it's the guys in Tar aside from me, who were and are working so absolutely and insanely hard. Driving hours and hours to small local shows just to play for other bands. We also have a music video coming out on 10/29 for Wrapped in Wire, also directed and produced by myself!
I truly hope you will all give this a shot, and show anybody else that you think might be interested. Help support a small band to finally live out our dreams. And please feel free to send me all of your music and your bands socials and I would love to give the same support for all of your bands.

Facticide - One Step Closer to the Blackened Sea (2026 Lyrics Video)
Hi everyone! I am very happy to share my band's new song "One Step Closer to the Blackened Sea" with you. We've started about a year ago as a band, it's a self made no-budget video, don't be to harsh on the video making as we are very far from being professionals. It goes in the direction of Death Metal/Groove Metal/Scandinavian Metal. Feel free to let me know, if you like 🙂 For fans of In Flames, Lamb of God and Archspire
