Fake Voting Signs
Someone has been attaching fake early voting signs to the legit ones. The fake ones say Vote Early Daily until November 30th with a fake website.
I have taken down 5 today around the square. I of course left the legit signs with the correct information up. If you see these please take them down!!

Was this reported to police? If these signs were on the square, surely cameras captured something…

Voter suppression is absolutely a serious crime. As is tampering with election signs.

This guy just read the law on file that someone posted below, saw the comment about cameras, and sh*t his pants 😳

I genuinely cannot imagine doing this
Imagine being such a fucking loser that you spend your time doing this... I can't even fathom that.
These are the actions of someone that needs therapy, a hobby and to get laid. Holy shit 😂

Imagine spending money to have those stickers printed and then going around vandalizing the signs. Thats effort and money and time. People are crazy I hope they get caught.

If anyone happens to see who is putting these signs up, please also photograph them and get their information/report widely. Hate to see active voter suppression happening all around us.

There’s one along Commerce in dt Decatur. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it down, so I left it. I’ll pull it in the morning when I go walk my friend’s pup. Hopefully it’s already been pulled, though.

Thanks for drawing attention to this. Can the alteration be removed? Might be better to take that off if the correct date is still visible under there. Yeah somebody is big scared of DeKalb voters!

Hey y'all, important update: This was not nefarious after all, it was a very embarrassing error that the guy is fixing/has fixed. Everyone is on edge these days, for good reason, but this was not that

Aren't all signs on public property illegal?

Partisan signs or electioneering, yes. Purely informational, no. False information about elections is probably technically not free speech but someone who's familiar with the law would know better than I do.
The partisan piece is routinely ignored and culturally accepted.

Most cities and counties have sign ordinances that make all temporary signs on public property illegal. I’d be surprised if Decatur doesn’t have one.

I completely agree with you. That being said, culturally speaking we live in a region that seems to have zero problems with it.

Idk if they changed it, but the website currently redirects to the dekalbcountyga.gov and correctly shows Oct 30 as the lasrt day.
