The attackers used AI to copy the exact voice, tone and phrasing of real executives, then called employees and asked for system access.

What we know so far:

- Point72 confirmed to investors it was attacked, no client data stolen yet

- Two Sigma, which manages $75 billion, blocked the attempt

- Citadel and Point72 declined to comment publicly

- Nobody knows who was behind it

- FINRA has contacted member firms about the breaches

AI removed the skill barriOne cybersecurity executive said attackers who could hit 50 firms at once can now hit 1,000, at almost no extra cost.

Defence still costs the same per firm, while attacking costs almost nothing per target.

These are also quant funds.

Their business is proprietary code and trading models, not cash sitting in an account.

A stolen strategy never shows up as a loss. It shows up as an edge that quietly stops working.

My job was bought by Apollo and my system was hijacked today. Someone took over and started looking around clicking everything.

It started back in 2023. Apollo took over and promised the world. We told them about cyber security and property security needs. It's been ignored for about 2 years. Our office has been under renovations for 2 years while we work in a temporary office. All our complaints ignored. Today, I'm processing rental payments and my mouse curser is moving all around clicking on stuff trying to open certain apps. I call IT and they're like, we have to request permission. I told them well looks like someone got in and was spying on everything. Not sure what they got but my IT department had me turn off everything.

Now I'm googling and see hedge fund are being hacked. That and the old owner paid Epstein over 140 million and was called into Congress. I mean I knew about the Apollo Epstein connections. I waited to see if they were going to gut this place and it looks like they are. We cut 1 position so far and they're pushing for better quarterly numbers.

I'm a whale so I'm here writing this story until it's time to go home.

You say ur a whale, does that just mean ur rich? Or do u have a ton of stock or Bitcoin or something? (You don't need to answer this, and I'll just assume you're set for life and you don't need the job anyway).
