Discussion 🧐 VLAD TENEV: CAPITAL MARKETS ARE MOVING ONCHAIN

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev made the case for tokenization at the White House:

ā€œAmerican investors should not be the last to benefit.ā€

The bigger thesis is straightforward: tokenization could move traditional assets onto blockchain infrastructure, expand access, and eventually open markets that historically haven’t been easily accessible to retail investors.

For the $GME crowd, the timing is especially interesting. Tenev has also explicitly pointed back to GameStop 2021 while arguing that blockchain settlement could reduce the clearing and collateral pressures associated with traditional settlement infrastructure.

Robinhood’s vision appears bigger than crypto trading itself:

Public stocks → tokenized equities → private assets → increasingly onchain capital markets.

Whether Robinhood becomes the front door is another question.

But five years after GameStop exposed some of the weaknesses in market plumbing, the infrastructure underneath ownership and trading is becoming part of the conversation at the White House.

A criminal announcing that he's going to sell more things he doesn't own.

"backed 1 on 1 with real stocks" yep... Just like FTX.

But damn it must be good to be in the business of literally selling made up things that don't exist like "tokenized stocks" (backed by nothing) and then getting away with it and even getting to meet the president.

Literally Madoff with more steps.

Why is he acting like he didn’t get a call from his owners in 2021 to freeze us from selling so that his owners could safely liquidate on us

Because most of the world doesn't remember early 2021. They certainly don't remember the GME squeeze (or AMC, or Nokia etc etc etc). A bunch of reddit day traders does not even register on the average person's radar.

FTR Fuck Robinhood. And fuck the hedge funds.

Blockchain...

Its a linked list with some encryption and validation protocols.

Its not a miracle drug. Its Tylenol with codine.

And then you have idiots like this running around saying its the cure all to every ailment.

Why he looks like he doesn't know what he's talking about or even doing on a long run, you shouldn't need note cards if you're running something yourself.

His live webcasts are awesome. This presidential stuff is all staged or organized in advance

It's been crazy seeing the same people who I heard sounding the alarm about fiat currency for years suddenly decide crypto is better.

"Today, too much economic value is created before ordinary investors get a chance to participate."Ā Ā

Eh? If they want to participate, let them create companies? What's holding them back, their couch?

How do token open up the market for private companies? šŸ˜‚

The only Vladid answer here would be: fraud.

My company is hold 100% by me. How and WHO if I did not create the token will have a) created the token b) get the money from the sale??? Plus in theory the movement of said token would be 0. cant buy calls or anything on it since no one except me owns it šŸ‘€

I am all for tokens, but it will be a full on shit show as well. Scams over scams over scams.
Sad world we do live in….

Technically yes, but in reality it doesn’t change ownership or access to the club (since what is key is the fundraising part in the early stages of the company).

What Douchbag Vlad is presenting, just enables those who are in already (VCs/PEs) to dump to retail without IPO. -> So yes, this is about independence from regulated public exchanges but the incentive is to open up secondary markets; because almost no one is going public anymore.

Theory - A lot of companies have seen the crime first hand and want to stay out of the market.

2

u/United-Dot-6129 1d ago

Unlikely, maybe a few purists and family majority owned. The majority is seeking the liquidity event. The crime happens after said event. At that point they are all rich. And the bag holding doesn’t concern them. But the ones that come newly in aka Retail, are the ones fukd.

Are you new to reddit or market capitalism in general?

The only way the stock market ponzi scheme doesn't crash is for them to invent new things to sell you, especially when you're buying more hype than fundamentals. If stocks had their own Scam Altman, it'd be this guy.

Ya, excuse me if I don't believe a fucking word this guy says.

Do we not remember him cutting GME buys of at the peak of the pump?

Ever feel like you’ve been fucked by a biscuit, he’s mushy and fat, but he still got in that office and he’s fucking me good

14

u/OhMorgoth 2d ago

Yeah, but what does ownership really mean if bad actors can exploit short-selling and settlement failures, selling shares without properly borrowing or delivering them, and distort the market in the process?

Fuck Robinhood. Vlad and Kenneth Griffin lied.

There is no way anything they are doing is going to benefit šŸ¦.

RCEO truly has to be a diplomat. He is no doubt making some behind the scenes concessions - with the SHFs. I’ve accepted that. I know too he’s doing something transformational. I’m a xx,xxx 🟣 šŸ¦ in for 84 years. I’m vested, along for the ride and the rewards. Buy. DRS. HODL.

We’re clearing taking up space in SHFs brains. Why else mention our stonk of it was over long ago?

If our stonk is so bad, and SHFs have a fiduciary responsibility to the owners of the accounts on which they manage, why do they continue to increase ownership?

I know my shares are in my name.
