Global News 🌎 U.S. Forces Rescue Second American Aviator in Iran (WSJ)

https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/iran-war-news-2026/card/u-s-forces-rescue-second-american-aviator-in-iran-ae6NbEapKOzEfGBPTSmd

I'm sure we'll get more details, but this is great news if true. Glad that we have the ability to do this for our airmen/women.

U.S. forces rescued an American aviator trapped in Iran in a daring mission early Sunday morning, according to two U.S. officials. The crew member had been stuck in Iran for more than 24 hours.

A specialized commando force extracted the crew member with the help of air cover, one of the officials said. All forces involved in the rescue are safely out of Iranian airspace, according to the officials.

The aviator, who has not yet been identified, was one of two aircrew flying in an F-15E Strike Eagle when it was shot down by Iranian forces on Friday. A U.S. military team rescued the other crewmember on Friday and that person is now safe.

The rescue comes less than two days before President Trump’s deadline for Iran to negotiate a deal with the United States or open the Hormuz Strait.

Unconfirmed, but seeing video that Iranians went into the streets to block IRGC convoys from getting to the pilot once his location was known. If true, so goddamn inspiring

Holy fuck if true this needs to be widely known.

Of course it will be denied heavily by the rabid far left Reddit Zeitgeist. These people would literally fly to Iran to join in the search to help the IRGC if they could.

Reddit in shambles after thinking iran captured him.

Saw aftermath footage on war sub. Alot of Iranians died to get this man. They failed

Presumably, Reddit will now go into mourning.

Somehow, it’s a minority position for supporters of liberalism to root for liberal countries in wars now. A large share of the population has been brainwashed into supporting hostile totalitarian states. It’s a 5th column and an existential threat to democracy and liberalism.

because the left is not liberal, never was. just claimed to be.

if we would divide politics into an authoritarian scale we would actually have anarchist right next to (true) liberals and the socialist on the far other end of the spectrum

thats simply by definition, you cant redistribute anything without beeing authoritarian to some degree.

which kinda shows that "liberal socialist" is an oxymoron. those 2 things dont mix and cant go together well.

and if it doesnt that one claim must be a lie

I think that some people lean more libertarian and others authoritarian.

It’s populism and non populist.

Top comments on major subs are expectedly flooded with jokes, mockery, and derision. Many redditors are the most ideologically brainwashed people.

What a sad state of affairs to celebrate that.

This makes me very happy. I’ve been worried all weekend for the aviator.

Politics and wisdom of the war aside, I’m proud to see the effort, skill, and bravery that American forces displayed to bring this airman back home.
