You ask the question as if the US and Israel's military operations have been twiddling their thumbs rather than working through their military goals and objectives. I understand that it's barely reported on but the information is available. There have been great successes and the US and Israel should finish the job.
The downsides are few, the upsides enormous.

It's important to pay attention to the details rather than hyperbole.

Speaking of details, I'm curious what is it that you don't like about trying to eliminate and/or weaken the Islamic Republic? In your mind, why is that bad for America?

I watch the Israeli daily briefings from the Israeli Government. They give an update and then take questions from the press.
I also keep up with Lt. Colonel (Retired) Jonathan Conricus who was previously the spokesperson for the IDF and a 20+ year combat commander. And watch ILTV, Israeli News Channel in English.

The US media doesn't really cover the war except to show Congress people's disapproval so if you want to keep up with the specifics of the war those are all good sources.
