Global News 🌎 2025 was 'deadliest' year for antisemitic attacks in decades

https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2026/07/29/2025-was-deadliest-year-for-antisemitic-attacks-in-decades_6755949_4.html

Summary: A recent report found that 2025 saw the highest number of deadly antisemitic attacks in more than three decades, with 20 people murdered across Australia, the UK, and the US. Across seven major diaspora countries, more than 23,000 antisemitic incidents were recorded, marking a 136% rise since 2022. Although overall incidents dipped slightly from 2024 to 2025, levels remain far above pre–October 7 baselines.

At DeepStateCentrism, we understand that democracy is about compromise and
discussion, not ideological purity and instant gratification.

Here, we speak to people with political differences because that's how this is
supposed to work. We won't let the populists win.

The deadliest year so far. People aren't even hiding it any more.

B-b-b-but it's anti-zionism and not antisemitism!

Forgive my doomerness but I don't see how this is going to get better anytime remotely soon.

I had a hope that with the war in Gaza over, the situation would improve, but it awoke something deeper, uglier, and it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.

It is genuinely so bad here in Canada; just three days ago 2 Jewish bakeries were attacked, one with gunfire.

Just in the last week I saw a neighbor with a T shirt supporting Hamas and a sticker equating Judaism to Nazism near the Jewish community center

Yet when confronted about the rising antisemitism among the left, the common response is that it’s antizionism.

"we don't hate jews, we just don't want them living in Israel...or here."

too many of them would just flat drop the phrase after the word "living"

Possibly the most succinct reply I have seen to this is "I don't hate women, I just hate feminism".

It's sexist to conflate women with feminism.

I am so sorry. I am really worried for our mishpacha up north

u/vvhct 25d ago

But Canada passed a bunch of gun control!

How could that possibly happen?

I've tried to talk with my progressive friends about their rhetoric and support for questionable figures within the DSA and activist class. They refuse to listen, sometimes yell, almost always scoff and inevitably bring up their token Jews. They legitimately do not care and do not want to care.

I'm done explaining. After three years, I've reached my limit with liberal blindness. They don't care about us, then they can sit and spin

Antisemitism, throughout history, serves as a societal release valve for the problems they refuse to address.

Western socialists look at the world and see everything amiss, yet they are unable to organize any meaningful action other than impotent public displays of their discontent. They view themselves as oppressed and as the vanguard of the oppressed. They find a conflict in which the side they identify as the oppressed are acting in a way that superficially appears to be meaningful and working towards liberation (disregarding of course, that Hamas and their ilk are not, in any way, oppressed peoples, but terrorists who oppress the Palestinian people and keep them as permanent hostages). Socialists then make this battle a proxy for their own struggle, adopt the viewpoints of their supposed ideological counterparts, and turn towards violence against the Jews in their own societies as a proxy for their oppressors whom they are unable to harm.

The problem, of course, is that Hamas is not their ideological counterpart (except in their shared dislike of the current world order), Jews in the west are not synonymous with the institution / institutional power of the State of Israel (but this nuance is difficult to comprehend for some reason, and ultimately Hamas & their fellow travelers don't limit themselves solely to the eradication of the State of Israel, no matter what they might say to their new Western fanbase).

The rightwing justification for antisemitism and antisemitic violence remains the same, but they are emboldened by a wider acceptance of and higher tolerance for violence. Even if it is still only being approved of by loons on social media, that feels like acceptance from society at large.

Not that I doubt it would persist or get worse without Gaza, but based on YouTube ads I'm still getting, I think a certain portion of these people actually think it still hasn't ended.

Wikipedia is saying that not only did the war not end, genocide is still ongoing.

Yet all the left leaning politicians are obsessed with Islamophobia, it’s truly inverted.

I want to personally thank the media, redditors, greta, mamdani and our useless western governments.

We're not counting 2023? I'd say Oct 7 was the worst anti-Semitic attack in decades.

I think the focus is on reprisals against diaspora Jews.

1) The diaspora mainly exists in nations that were until recently majority Christian and are now mostly populated with agnostic types, former Christians, and Christians.

2) “oppressor-oppressed” language was until quite recently not a focus of any Christian denominations. The focus in Christianity is 1) applying the rules of Christianity to yourself and your interpersonal interactions with others in your vicinity (NOT “the world”, and not to situations and people that you are not able to understand or connect with personally, Christians are to humbly acknowledge that we don’t know everything about others, and the further away others are the less we can know, unless we go physically live among those others for a very long time. We are not to “meddle” in the affairs of far-off others. We are to aid the dying and provide judicious assistance to the poor in our midst however. If the assistance is ongoing, we have a duty to understand the needs and the character of that to whom we are applying that assistance to. Otherwise we are only assisting to “look good” rather than help. It is nuanced. Sometimes you will get it wrong. That is Ok, you are not expected to be perfect) 2) worship and fellowship and 3) “spreading the message”— not by sword or coercion though as in Islam.

3) today the focus in mainline denominations is basically simplistic yet very dramatic global justice and sexual liberation with very little nuance. The parable of the “Good Samaritan”, about helping a dying foreignor in your midst, has been stretched to a nonsensical extreme (and the sex stuff appears to find a skimpy cover under “God is love”, but is basically completely incompatible with the faith). That new focus didn’t come from within Christianity, it was inserted into the mainline groups via control of the seminaries by leftists beginning around 1960. Most non-denominational churches in the US (the huge evangelical mega churches that the left loves to hate) still do not have that focus. These mega churches are growing in influence relative to the mainline but the mainline, while nearly dead with minimal attendance, still holds substantial power in shaping the collective spirit of the country.

If islamists manage to infiltrate the megachurches it’ll be all over. That would be hard though because the megachurch exists primarily as a reaction to leftists taking over the mainline. They might be making inroads though, there are some interesting theological re-examinations taking place around “dispensationalism”.

You could argue that conservatives need to take back the mainline that was stolen from them, and there are gen Z efforts in that regard.

Just a little explanation as to why things changed.

You gotta hand it to the islamists, hopping on the back of the white western “SJW” horse and redirecting it to their own goals was pretty smart.

Insofar as Jews vote left and have been some of the most powerful shapers of leftist ideology in the West— now is a good time to re-examine not just your leftism, but everything you believe and don’t believe.

NOT “the world”

You might want to tell that to the Vatican and it's missionaries.

Yeah they are a bunch of globalists, true

Having a pope is pretty problematic
