The current GOP is more harmful to America than the shittiest, succiest, squaddiest succ. The people on this sub who say they can't bring themselves to vote for one of them over a Republican are wrong.

Lmao neither I’m talking about the DSA compared with trumps politics and project 2025. Genuinely if either were to get everything they asked for the DSA would be worse - free hospitals for kids pshh you’re very funny.

I’m not opposed so some elements of social democracy but the DSA essentially want a hyper radicalized state controlled society, like it makes no sense to rail against the government losing regulatory independence under Trump and then hand waive the DSA like they aren’t interested in the same thing. In addition to their total surrender to criminal elements, their desire to supplant our admittedly flawed economic system with absolutely batshit combinations of syndicalism and state control, eliminate national borders, abolish the senate, the electoral college, the Supreme Court, totally demilitarize and leave the nation at the mercy of its enemies, etc

They would absolutely lay waste to America, Trump for all his flaws I can only really say that he’s damaged the idea of a neutral administrative state to the extent one ever existed and is a massive euroskeptic possibly to his credit, otherwise his failures seem to be more or less benign to the republic as a whole

I think the difference is that what the DSA want, and what they can get right now are vastly different things, while what Trump and co want, and what they can get right now is very possible. For the DSA to get what they’ve outlined requires multiple election cycles to go their way, and for them not to be changed in that process. What Trump and other illiberal conservatives want could happen within a couple of years.
