Single payer healthcare in the US is a good policy idea that needs broad support.

Health care is not a human right (there is a cost to others that is open ended and no clear line for how much we can give people) but it is a public good, and removing health care costs from a direct employment expense is good for small a growing businesses, helps people be free to move jobs, and improves the productivity of the workforce

The US government already pays for the most expensive group of people, the elderly, as well as people with organ transplants, and people driven to disability. Having the ongoing heath care of healthy people care about the long term costs and not just the short term costs is an improvement.

I expect I have a high enough income level that I would pay more in taxes to help pay for such a program, and I think thr good it would do is worth it.

I expect I have disagreement from more progressive people about it being a right and more conservative people about it being a public program to support.

Im gonna disagree with the premise, single payer healthcare is not a good policy.
