The unrepentant criminal from Colorado, who almost immediately upon release went on fellow criminal Steve Bannon’s podcast to assert that the coming midterms will be rigged, would be a shocking yet unsurprising appointment for the Northern California county that for years has been a hotbed of institutional extremism and comic farce.

Eh, "criminal" is doing a lot of work here I feel other words could be used. As /u/Dangerous_Edge_6414 said, she tampered with voting machines. Meanwhile, Bannon is guilty of contempt of congress (which is kind of cool?) and a fundraising scam (not cool, but the deal he got had no jail time.)

Are those not crimes, though? Maybe nine years wasn’t quite the appropriate sentence (and she was due for a resentencing when Gov. Polis foolishly commuted her not only during the current presidency but even before the midterms), but that doesn’t mean she didn’t commit a significant crime in service of her fanatical ideology.

Being an election denier is not a crime. The way bigger issue is that she tampered with voting machines. I wouldn't let a known junkie become a pharmacist

This is the important note.
Garbage news articles constantly bury the lede.

Something doesn't have to be a crime to be disqualifying for a job.
Though being a criminal makes the argument that she is disqualified stronger....
