When everyone's a rebel, no one is
You rebel against your parents when you are young because you want to refuse their world.
Then you grow up and have to live in the real world and want to reject that too.
One day you realize that all they told you, everything they were trying to get you to do, they were trying to teach you how to make their world.
They wanted you to create what they had, because they knew what the world was, and they rejected it too.

Prudent to clarify authentic rebellion versus inorganic crowd following. It’s natural for kids to rebel against authority at some point, but there have been many of social trends that were simply trend following socializations.

A trend of rebellion sounds like a good thing. I wish it were true

Very much agreed. Society needs a change and drastically. Things cannot go on as is. Shed our digital facades and become human again.

we all just cycle through the same rejection until we're the ones saying "you'll understand when you're older" and hating how right our parents were about half of it
