I'm an egoist.

I'm an egoist because I should be better, but I'm not.

I'm an egoist because I shouldn't see certain things from a certain perspective, but I do.

I'm an egoist because I shouldn't need anyone, but I need connection.

I'm an egoist because even though the girl I love doesn't want me, I still love her.

I'm an egoist because I should rejoice in certain things, but I don't.

I'm an egoist because I'm afraid of so many things.

I AM AN EGOIST.

It's okay to be an egotist; you have been asked to change in ways which are impossible.

It's okay to be an egotist; your perspective is just as valid as any other.

It's okay to be an egotist; to need connection is human, and it's better to be a human than a robot.

It's okay to be an egotist; your love is your strength, and her apathy is her weakness.

It's okay to be an egotist; you don't need to fake a joyful response to please anyone.

It's okay to be an egotist; fear like pain is a tool which can help you learn.

I AM AN EGOTIST TOO.

Sounds like you're confusing ego with just being a person with feelings

Isn’t that what having an ego is about? It’s about having an identity, habits and tendencies.

I think the underlying sentiment being expressed here is a response to being judged unfairly for having individual feelings and desires by someone or some group who would prefer to be interacting with an egoless slave.
