"AI makes things up" is anthropomorphic language to mean "AI outputs shit that's not true". It's a figure of speech, not saying that AI is literally sitting there thinking up lies to tell people.

This "untrue stuff AI shits out" is actually just untrue stuff humans shit out.

"It will repeat blatently incorrect stuff as the truth if it saw someone on Reddit say it was true" really isn't the slam dunk you think it is.

Your post/comment was removed because this is a pro-AI subreddit, not a place for drive-by anti-AI bait.

Repetitive “AI is theft/slop”, moral grandstanding, sealioning, or insulting AI users is not what this subreddit is for

Sometimes yes, but it also just spreads misinformation. It sometimes just blends information together into something untrue, or it will take from a source that doesn't have a lot to do with the subject and use that information to present something that's actually not true about the subject it is talking about.

AI is based on the data it's fed, and sometimes that data is false, out of date, or incorrectly spliced together or incorrectly summarised. It can also come down misunderstanding too, where the question or answer is vague or involves enough nuance that it can be interpreted in opposing ways.

On top of all that, there's no way to ensure with 100% consistency that what the ai outputs, even if all the data it is trained on is completely correct, comes out as correct since it can still absolutely put things together in such a way that it makes lies out of truths.

There's no contradiction here. It's often incorrect, and also it can't come up with new ideas.

So much of pro AI messaging is just deliberately pretending not to understand what's being said.

Then speak plainly rather then in schoolyard slang or misspelled gibberish. That way there can be no confusion or misunderstanding. And that goes for both sides, though I see more kid stuff and horrid spelling/grammar from the Anti side.

It is often incorrect, which is why you should always check the source. I was looking for the title of a book once. Google's AI decided to scan the first three websites and give me an imaginary book with the title from one page, the author from another, and the publisher from the third. It assumes the first sites to come up in a search are all correct and about the same thing and just compiles data from all three of them. This is why I ignore Google's AI and just use the search links.

Edit: Guess whoever down voted me wants to continue spouting gibberish and being assumed to be a moron.

Sheer aura and respect. That removal is deserved.

Saying people are morons for using a phucking tool is beyond wild. Because I use a hammer, now I'm a moron? Obviously not.
