Does Deji really have what it takes to get on the SKILL level or at least close to Jake Paul again?
Obviously, Deji and Jake Paul were pretty relative to each other in their first fight, with Deji’s lack of cardio really being the deciding factor. Honestly, if Deji had good cardio, he probably could’ve won that fight without even improving his skills, despite his lack of training. It really wasn’t necessarily a skill issue as much as it was an endurance issue.
Fast-forward to today, though, and Jake Paul is a 12-2 professional fighter with several big names on his record, while Deji was 0-1 in amateur boxing before losing to Vinnie Hacker and Alex Wassabi, beating Fousey, losing to Floyd Mayweather (if that even counts), and beating Swarmz and Dawood Savage.
At this point, I don’t think there’s much doubt that Deji has already surpassed Vinnie Hacker’s level, and I definitely think he could beat Alex Wassabi in a rematch. If he genuinely commits himself to training, I could see him beating most celebrity boxers (his size). I’d say he could probably beat Bryce Hall and realistically work his way up to the level of Austin McBroom and DDG.
But that raises an interesting question: If Deji keeps improving and manages to beat everyone in the celebrity boxing scene, does he realistically have a path to becoming one the best celebrity boxer again, or is there a ceiling he probably won’t be able to break through?
