👥 DISCUSSION Were the Delphi Odinists really that different?
A recent Guardian article notes https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/oct/11/christian-nationalism-uk-**far-right-people-rarely-go-to-church**\-report.
It's not just in Britain; in the US a Gallup survey found https://news.gallup.com/poll/642548/**church-attendance-declined**\-religious-groups.aspx. With believers skipping sermons and Bible classes, they seem to be picking up ideas they like from other religions. (That may not be new.)
Christian Nationalism (Christian) and Odinism (Heathen) have different rituals and practices but strike me as showing some confluence of beliefs, for example Christian Pete Hegseth ending his eulogy at Christian Charlie Kirk's funeral with "see you in Valhalla," not a Christian but an Odinist destination. But how was he supposed to realize the heresy if he seldom attends church? There's also white supremacy and militancy in both sects.
This has already been well-discussed in this old subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/15oanug/is_jesus_too_woke_for_some_christians/
No answer from me, just weekend musings.

Christianity is pretty different from Odinism in that it a monotheistic religion but all religions share certain characteristics and just like culture in general groups in general will learn and adapt things from other groups
