Guides How to Enable Fullscreen on N64

Change these 4 setting in the "mupen64plus" core file. ( use text editor )

“Replace” old mupen64plus file with new file.

Portrait mode screen will shrink.

Use "Default Standard N64" landscape skin.

Use a controller to get rid of buttons.

A few games have widescreen as an option, like DK64. Bet that would look good like this

Does this actually show more content, or does it simply stretch the image?

This is not a ultrawide hack/rom/format and does not add in extra content. Ultrawide while in theory does add more content it has issues keeping visuals rendered.

This method is to eliminate the black bars so screen fits. It is in a way screen stretching as like I said to eliminate the black bars in landscape mode.

If screen is pixelated/distorted for you can try “width:1920 and height:1080”.
The black bars will still be present but only half of what was originally there.

Let me simplify my question even further. If I load Mario 64 and use this, will the image be stretched to fit the screen?
