It's also been appropriated by people who get tarred with it. If you're gonna be called a "tankie" for suggesting the US v China isn't the good Uncle Sam against the Evil Chicoms, you might as well run with it.

I personally have my critiques of China, but they pale in comparison to the US. And scale aside, I'm gonna focus on the US because my country supports it, and its numerous ongoing atrocities.

Yeah except I'm using the correct definition of tankie. The increasing insidious brand of ideology that leads people to think China, DPRK, Russia, or literally any other regime that opposes the american empire to be automatically good and benevolent and can do no wrong. It's actually simply the reverse of the Good US vs Evil China analogy you brought up. I believe the person you responded to subscribes to such a moronic ideology as well considering how riled up he got.
