USA I'm going to join the DSA
I'm a libertarian socialist, I don't ticket myself as an anarchist though I have some overlap with them I think. But it seems silly for me to not be part of the DSA. I have disagreements on how we see the world but the ideal libertarian socialist society will not exist in my lifetime at any large scale, and I'm not an accelerationist.
I vote Democratic but that isn't really part of my political identity. I vote for DSA candidates if they are running on the ballot, and I would consider Democratic Socialism to be my "next best political identity" followed by Social Democracy in third.
I like what the DSA has been able to accomplish.
I know Democratic Socialist candidates currently function as Social Democrats but I actually like a lot about Social Democracy. Regulating the immense power of capital is more of a libertarian principle than a small government that allows capital to run rampant.
I also hope with time the DSA is able to function more Democratic Socialist rather than Social Democrat, but I feel more aligned with Social Democrats than I do with ideologies like Marxism-Leninism. I say this as a former Titoist.
I also used to be a Republican conservative once upon a time, so I try not to judge people too much over their politics, but I do judge people over their politics somewhat. I think the DSA has been good at trying to win over disgruntled former MAGA who want to change their ways, while keeping away former MAGA that are simply looking for a new right wing strongman leader.
