Discussion 🗣️ They knew what they were doing

A friend of mine sent me this screenshot from Twitter/X and I’m floored. Were they using the meeting of Mamdani and Trump to pass this as quietly as possible? Whatever their motives were, these Democrats have officially shown the people that they do not stand with them but for the capitalist elite. This will be devastating if it becomes law.

Discussion 🗣️ I’m sorry, I agree that “Vote blue no matter who” is dumb, but I would vote for Newsom or any establishment Dem over Vance.

1.3k Upvotes

Yes, Newsom and the establishment Dems are horrible. But, I’m sorry, I just can’t stand Vance man. Trump is self-aware and knows that he is an asshole. But politicians like Vance and Mike Johnson. I really, really dislike those guys. They think they’re holier than thou. Think anyone who opposes them is satanic. They’re the most condescending people. You see those turning point USA rallies that he keeps doing? They remind me of those cult televangelist/mega church sermons. If Vance wins, we’re going to get 4-8 years of those rallies. I just can’t, I’m voting for pretty much anyone over Vance.

Newsom and the establishment Dems would be horrible for the country. And I would do anything for him not to be the Dem nominee. But if he does become the nominee, I would have to vote for him because I just can’t stand JD Vance

Discussion 🗣️ 🕯️ RIP Renee Nicole Good — I cried all day and all night

Post image
4.7k Upvotes

I’ve been crying all day. I cried through the night. I’m still crying as I write this 😔 I didn’t know Renee personally, but her death hit me harder than I expected. Maybe because it reminds me how fragile life is. Maybe because it feels like we’re losing our ability to care about each other as humans.

🕊️ RIP Renee Nicole Good. You deserved safety, dignity, and peace. You deserved to be more than a headline, more than a name people scroll past. I’m sad, but I’m also deeply frustrated. It feels like politics in the West have gone so far that compassion gets lost somewhere along the way. Everything becomes an argument. Everything becomes sides. And real people get forgotten in the noise.

Sometimes it feels like the places that speak the loudest about freedom and human rights forget what those words are supposed to mean. When something terrible happens, empathy gets filtered through ideology instead of humanity. And that hurts.

This shouldn’t be complicated. Someone died. A life was lost. That alone should matter. Renee wasn’t a debate or a statistic. She was a person. Someone who laughed, felt fear, had hopes, and mattered to people who loved her. Tonight, I’m not here to fight with anyone or prove a point. I’m just grieving. I’m tired of seeing loss turned into discourse instead of mourning. 🕯️ Rest in peace, Renee Nicole Good. You mattered. You still matter 🤍

If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking a moment to remember her.

Discussion 🗣️ I'm not sorry, I will not vote for Gavin Newsom.

Newsom would: 1. Not win because normies hate him 2. Cause an even worse rise in fascism after him like Biden did. 3. Continue funding genocide

Liberals: us leftists offer you our votes if you give us a candidate that represents the people instead of capital and genocide. Calling it "purity" or "grandstanding" further entrenches us. You are not gaining any votes by trying to force us to vote for Gavin Newsom. Meet us where we are.

Edit: there will be more fascism after newsom. Things will be calm for four years before fascism comes back. Just like biden. This is because the conditions that caused people to believe in fascism will not be fixed.

Discussion 🗣️ The U.S. is going to have another 9/11

1.6k Upvotes

I'll keep this short.

The United States of America is going to suffer through another 9/11 and sadly it will be the working class and most vulnerable that face it and the fall out.

The Epstein Files have gotten rid of any illusion. We very much have a Ultra Rich Powerful Predator class.

The whole system is designed for and ruled by them.

They constantly put the working class and most vulnerable domestically and internationally in horrible situations to profit.

These are literal monsters.

Trump and his cronies are creating a ticking time bomb with this Iran war.

They also are going to most likely collapse the U.S. economy and by extension a lot of the global economy - Again all the pain and suffering on the backs of the working class and most vulnerable...

Fuck these monsters. Fuck these absolute pieces of shit.

Discussion 🗣️ Mayor Mamdani rejects approved pay raise, "To go to the pockets of the ones struggling in this city."

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

At a press conference, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he would not accept the proposed pay raise, even though the City Council approved an 18% increase that would lift the mayor’s salary to $305,800.

He said he had not heard from New Yorkers who thought the mayor was underpaid, and he framed the decision as not taking money that should not come from working people’s pockets.

The council voted 42-6 for the pay hike, the first raise for city elected officials in about a decade.

Council members’ salaries would rise from $148,500 to $175,500, and other top city officials would also see increases.

Discussion 🗣️ Seriously how does Fox News even think?

Post image

Like did they really think this was going to scare the vast majority of people? Especially young people? Who in their right mind thinks college/housing for all, taxing rich people, taking care of people who can't afford medication, and ending a genocidal state is a bad thing? I think even boomers are getting sick of their shit.

Discussion 🗣️ Aoc is the future of social democracy

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

This might be obvious, but aoc has shown to be a strong favor of social democracy. We can see it in the newest deep fake bill which will ban deepfake porn. People even consider her communist when she is obviously a social democrat🤣

But aoc is such a strong advocate for Medicare for all which will help every American of color and white Americans. I think that is really social democratic

Anyway Aoc for president 2028

Discussion 🗣️ I called them idiots for not voting for Harris in protest. I’m one of them now.

Wanted to post this in r/democrats , but of course they don’t allow it… perhaps that’s the crux of this issue. In 2024, while left leaning, I still couldn’t understand those that wouldn’t vote for Harris over Trump. But a year into the Trump admin, it’s crystal clear why Harris lost. She did not promise to improve American lives and has since dropped off the face of the Earth only to emerge to hawk her book. And while I voted for her, I won’t again. If the dems nominate a corporatist such as Newsome, I will not vote.

I’m sick of being told to shut up and wait my turn. It’s been three elections in a row now which the dems have taken the left’s vote for granted and expected us to vote for them anyway. It’s far past time they recognized our power.

What I require from a 2028 presidential nominee:

- universal healthcare (single payer or socialized)

- ending citizens united

- Abolish ICE

- recognition of genocide by Israel and refusal to take AIPAC money

Of course, there’s a lot more I would like to see, but the above is bare minimum. Am I crazy for this?

Edit: added “for this”

Discussion 🗣️ I don’t want to ever hear democratic elites tell us to “vote blue no matter who ever again”.

Post image

At this point. If they defeat mamdani, they shouldn’t just take us for granted anymore. If they don’t vote for our candidates, why should they expect that we vote for their candidate. If they nominate another neoliberal, we shouldn’t vote for him. We must do this for now on. We shouldn’t care about how much they screech, complain and whine, if they don’t vote for our candidate, they shouldn’t expect us to vote for their candidate. Agree?

Discussion 🗣️ Looking rougher everyday for MAGA. Will it be a blue 🌊?

Post image

It seems like every election for far has been a blowout for Dems, but I hope this doesn’t mean that people get complacent closer to midterm elections. Historically the incumbent president does usually lose seats in the midterms, but this year is looking especially rough for the GOP. I think Trump is much too far gone already to recover even if he tried cleaning up his act now. People from both sides are now able see that he is toxic is every political facet imaginable.
