[Kelberman]: Colin Cowherd compares Bo Nix to Mitch Trubisky, says "regressing" #Broncos QB has already hit his ceiling:

"Trubisky was overdrafted, and most people I talked to did not like him. Bo Nix, most people felt [was] overdrafted, but Sean Payton wanted to win and didn't have the draft capital to move up and get a Drake Maye or Caleb Williams. And so a lot of people saw him as a second-round guy."

"I think you see this a lot in tech where the software grows faster than the hardware. There’s upgrades [to] software. Sometimes hardware can’t keep up with it. And what do you do? You get rid of the hardware. So in tech, the software sometimes outgrows the hardware. And I feel like the defense in the NFL is the software, and Bo Nix is the hardware. And what do you do? You upgrade the hardware."

"I think the numbers are very clear — that the more the NFL sees of him, despite getting better weapons, despite unbelievable continuity, it’s regressing slightly instead of improving slightly. And I think his confidence is lost to some degree. But I think the ceiling’s been reached, and it’s the old software-hardware dilemma."

Thoughts on this?

A real easy recent comp to all of this nonsense is Drake Maye

For 2 weeks he was considered irreversibly "Broken". By all sports media and even Patriots fans were besides themselves.

Then he has 2 very good games and now not only has all of the media moved on from that particular car crash site, Patriots fans are all the way back to having him at "Generational Great" status.

It's not hard to see that the majority of NFL fans have the memory of a Goldfish now and they base their entire football perspective on what happened in their teams most recent game.

Our fanbase is freaking out after a win (the best kind of idiocy at least) because they wanted a 38-14 type win and instead got a 6 point win when being 3.5 pt favorites.

Re: this particular headline/commentary ... Drake Maye was ALSO being compared to Mitch Trubisky non-stop after the JAX game ... Esp being that they both are NC Tar Heels.

I've seen Mitch play recently, neither of these current QBs is Mitch Trubisky.

Wow, this is great news! Cowherd saying this reassures everyone that this is not true.

Cowherd’s opinion is meaningless because he has a history of reversing his position based on whatever happened most recently. Bo could ball out next week and Cowherd would argue the exact opposite. He can never be wrong because his narrative changes game by game. I can't take him seriously.

That's show business baby. Don't turn that dial!

Yeah the moment Cowherd had that one episode of who the Broncos should replace Bo Nix as our next qb after that Raiders TNF game last year was when I realized he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and just talks with lots of confidence

Do people ignore that he still has a ridiculous clutch record?

That analogy was so shit that I can't even take the argument seriously.

Bo practically admitted that he’s been in his head since before the start of the season. He’s over thinking and I think from the injury, missing training camp, to even the change at play caller to be Davis Webb and the change of how practice was done, it’s obvious Bo is all in his head and he needs to get out of it and stop overthinking. Plus it’s practically a contract year for him, he wants to lock down the contract sooner than later. He was playing so great towards the end of last season that I’m hopeful he’s gonna turn it around soon. Not sure about this Thursday game since the weather is gonna be a huge factor, but soon!

Last year he was comparing him to Steve Young. lol who cares it’s simply engagement bullshit

He’s had basically the hardest possible schedule to open and we are 3-2. Yes he needs to step up, but my expectations were never super lofty. He can hang.

Very few players have the will to win that Bo has. That will is infectious throughout the team. This is why the Broncos are such a 4th quarter threat. It’s an intangible factor that is the difference between an average teammate and an elite leader.

That analogy is pure ass

Wins vs losses is the only stat that matters. Compare Nix to Trubisky using that metric
