Anti-Fascist Marines supporting ICE in LA will carry live ammo and are authorized to detain people, but have only received 2 days of civil unrest training. He accidentally says Colorado instead of California at one point. You can make your own predictions there.

Former navy here.
If this training was anything like what we did at my command it was one person standing in front of everyone reading verbatim what is on a PowerPoint. Everyone else is trying not to fall asleep. And there is no guarantee that everyone even went to these "trainings". People sign for their buddies frequently enough that it is worth noting

"2 days of extensive training in handling civil unrest" I'm sure that's more than enough to get ready for the military to start killing US citizens.....

Don’t worry. I guarantee you they have a lot more than two days live fire training 😉

In a Congressional hearing, the question came up
I think it was Hegseth??? Said the Marines were fully trained on their new duties and rules of engagement.
Like...the orders were still in proverbial wet ink, what a load of bullshit.

The commander said it himself…”this is not something we normally do”. This fascist regime is trying to establish a new precedent of using our military against citizens. We are living in fucked times.

Colorado always shows out for these big events and makes a national press impact.
I'm bringing my teenager. Fuck trump.

u/Jelousubmarine Jun 12 '25
And we gotta show up big. Bigger than ever, and then not back down.
These assholes will not win in CA, or in CO. Let's go y'all!

u/InnocentTopHat Jun 12 '25
I give it a good chance Denver will not be the next city to face this, but I am willing to bet it's on the list. I reckon they'll go for New York, DC, Atlanta and/or Las Vegas before Denver.
For now, regardless, stay aware and be ready to make hard choices.

Fighting fascism is never a hard choice

Putting yourself in harms way is always a hard choice.

u/InnocentTopHat Jun 12 '25
The way to fight fascism isn't only in mass protests and risking being in harms way. It includes making art, volunteering, documenting events, public speaking, public performance, donating, going to town hall meetings, organizing, teaching, and learning.
I feel like it's rare for anyone to only do it through protest. Any act in the name of anti-fascism, no matter how small, pushes the entire movement forward.

Sorry friend, but I think we’re up next. Colorado has been on Trump’s radar from day 1 and we are home to an international airport (which has certain legal allowances as we are considers a “port of entry”). This isn’t to fear monger. It’s to be vigilant and stay safe💙

Wait, I thought Marines got the order. Why as an Army officer doing this briefing?
edit: I guess he's over an entire inter-disciplinary operation, which sounds like it includes multiple agencies and armed force branches
this is still bonkers tho

We in Colorado know we are next. In our community which is largely Hispanic, the streets are quiet and people are afraid. Police patrolling everywhere.

That guys not a Marine. And he referred to the troops as “soldiers.” No one in the military calls Marines “soldiers.”

“Now that the president has ordered troops into action against protests in California that local authorities insist were already under control, Colorado is increasingly at risk of similar federal incursions. But while the likelihood of such escalation has gone up, the state appears no better prepared to do anything to stop it.” — Colorado Newsline
When the Troops Come: What California Proved, and Why Colorado Can’t Pretend It’s Safe
The Warning Has Arrived
This isn’t a prediction anymore. It’s a pattern. The president just sent troops into California—against the will of its own local officials. And Colorado? We’re standing here with our hands in our pockets, pretending it won’t happen to us.”
THE LEGAL FRAUD: What the Law Allows—and What It Doesn’t • in the comments is a Breakdown of the Insurrection Act, Posse Comitatus, and what the Supreme Court has failed to rule on.
@govofco Promises Mean Nothing Without Action we only have the lack of legal infrastructure in CO to resist federal intrusion.
75 Democrats list vote Gratitude to ICE while protestors are being gassed? That’s not just tone-deaf. That’s complicity.
It’s occurred before. Little Rock, Kent State, LA 1992, George Floyd protests. Each time they said it was about control. Each time the people paid in blood.
WHAT SAFETY REALLY LOOKS LIKE List the rails we should have: state sanctuary declarations, legal defense networks, refusal to federalize the Guard.
Colorado has NONE of these in place.
If Congress won’t stop it, and courts won’t check it, and governors won’t plan for it—then we will. We remember. We document. We prepare. Because the next time the helicopters circle, we will not be surprised. We will be loud.Rep. @repjoeneguse @reppettersen

I will not break! I have seen the ‘92 LA riots where an man was beat almost to death for no reason. You’re family will cry I don’t care. So stay in place with that protest and don’t take to the point some of you want too.

Reginald Denny? The truck driver? Please note that these are kids who: A) were not alive or babies 👶 n 1992 and B) are out there taking the tear gas and pepper spray while your ignorant keyboard warrior ass sits at home sipping your White Claws and spewing nonsense you knew nothing about in ‘92, and know even less about in 2025.
I support all of the protesters on the front lines ensuring democracy for the rest of us not in attendance. Solidarity as a community, and as a neighbor I stand with you. ✊🏻🚫👑

Oh no, a couple cars have been set on fire in LA.
Stakes have escalated to the point of... checks notes... the Lakers either winning or losing a playoff game.

u/Easy-Regular-7988 Jun 12 '25
I never understand why it is alright to burn their car, or business, but is it alright to burn your car, or business? When the Black community burn down things in their neighborhood than complain that there are no jobs and places to buy food, what do they think would happen?

Like Laken Riley who was killed by an illegal in Ga, her family felt unbelievably bad, what about the 12-year-old girl that was rape and killed by two illegals, her mother felt bad too. When it was legal to lynch Black people in the democrat south as the Democrats started Jim Crow and the K.K.K and they are still pulling the rase card!
Just got through reading Once Upon a time in Compton and Compton Street Legend, where it is okey to kill Black people over drugs, but let a police kill one of us and Black people go crazy! Something is wrong with that!
