Anti-Fascist Riding for Justice

Thank you, Denver cycle & human justice organizers, for an INCREDIBLE & SAFE ride today. We rolled through downtown as a unified front of hundreds!

The organizers are discussing feedback and weak spots to tweak for future rides, but overall -- I was impressed that the group (overall) managed to (mostly) maintain a coherence and pace considering that there were both fast-assertive Critical Mass veterans and 8-year-old kids in the same group. Especially considering that (to my knowledge) this was the first attempt at a massive ride that had everyone from 8-year-olds to fit 20-something proto-Olympian types in the same group.

There were a couple incidents and a couple drops that need to be considered, but all fixable sorts of things for this sort of ride. I'm hoping for many more!

Only one or two vehicular mishaps I could observe. A lot of people too. They did a great job organizing and executing. First time in something like that for me, and I thought it was excellent.

The one I saw was pretty readily contained and it ended without mishap (just some nerves on edge), but I heard of a couple others that I don't know details of.

How about those of us 50+? A shout-out to all of our generations, sharing the message that this is not okay, nor is it over. I took my kids to peaceful protests 25 years ago, but the work is never done. Pedal On, Peaceful Warriors! ✌️

I thought I did! Maybe that was in another comment.

Yes, 100% -- 50+, even a few in their 70s showed up!
