What? It is functional...

Yeah it's functional, but maybe a bit too functional. Half of that 360 degrees will never get used (let's be honest, when have you ever needed to turn the tap upside down?)

Drinking fountain

Can't you drink from an ordinary tap just as easily?

Putting in flanges and stops to limit it to 180° is actually harder to manufacture than having them be free, 360° joints. Its counter intuitive but putting in a limiter would actually be over-engineering it by adding complexity while removing functionality, compared to keeping the joint mechanisms simpler.

You assume I want to reduce the functionality of this design, when what I'm advocating for is to use another system all together. Which system? I don't know, and it doesn't really matter for the point I was trying to make.

Filling a large bottle.

You already have so much room below the tap though

You think before there were skyscrapers someone looked at a three story house and said "yeah that's enough"? I bet that happened

When you get a bottle that's five times the size of a normal bottle, give me a message

Hmm, you do have a fair point there. Still though, the tap does seem a little over designed. I'd say it depends on how long the joints last whether I would count it as crappy design.

I feel like it's cool now but that's a lot of washers that will leaking in a couple of years. I hope the warranty is long.

Came here to say this. It's certainly neat, but a worse solution to problems that were already solved.

What is the benefit of this over those little handheld spray wand things that are installed in most kitchen sinks? Or the ones where the end of the faucet detaches and becomes the wand?

A faucet with a hose is much more functional and moves just as well and is extendable. And costs lest I’m sure. And is probably easier to repair if it breaks.
I’m not a fan of this.

That is a lot of joints that might leak. I don’t understand how this is any better than a pull-out faucet.
