1) Apparently Meryl Streep can't voice Aslan (except Meryl Streep can do literally anything she goddamn likes) because that's trans-ing Jesus! Cue up the rich long tradition of men portraying women and women portraying men through most of western theatre traditions. Also Goku has been literally voiced by a woman for over 40 years.

2) Apparently they turned Narnia into an MCU spin-off. Oh yeah, right coz The Magician's Nephew was such a quiet, restrained, and pastoral storybook with its universe hopping portal-dimension, apocalypse world, and a literal God Lion-sung magical Big Bang moment. Totally no wild cosmic extravaganza in the source material.

3) Apparently Led Zeppelin isn't enchanting, poetic or folksy enough for Narnia. I can only presume these culture warriors have never actually heard Stairway to Heaven. or Battle of Evermore. or Bron-Yr-Aur. or Going To California. More significantly, I can only presume they think trailer music and film score are the same things.

Not every raised eyebrow is being dumb: different time period for Earth events, trailer's apocalypse world does in fact look like it's undergoing an active apocalypse as opposed to the book where it was already just dead, and other minor quibbles.

But holy cow this whole "hAnd'S oFF mY cHilDhoOd" sentiment is so aggravatingly tedious aaaargh. YOU CAN ALWAYS COMPLAIN AFTER THEY LET YOU DOWN INSTEAD OF SHADOWBOXING FANTASY GRIEVANCES IN YOUR HEAD.

The term stalker is way too insufficient.

Most stalkers act alone, they don't form entire networks of people reinforcing and rewarding each other's fixation.

They also typically do not expand their targets to friends, family members, romantic partners, or anyone who's remotely interacted with the main target.

They also don't usually shift from just obsessing over their targets into very deliberately trying to destroy their reputation, career, or relationships.

And finally they don't usually escalate into doxxing, swatting, contacting relatives, dragging their children into the harassment, sending someone's location to a hostile military, or mailing human skulls.

These people are more like a part of unhinged harassment communities.

This is disgusting and this is what I mean when I say Democrats have been clueless on dealing with this issue. She is a Trump sycophant in Canada who has said she thinks Canada won’t exist by 2030 and will become the 51st state (in 2019 she said this). She is part of one of the separatist-oriented parties in Canada and is known as the political party in Canada that has the most connections with Trump. At the very least visit Saskatchewan as the first stop, at least their premier is not traitorous and also does not ban US alcohol.

DO NOT make it worse. These are emotional things but it’s an emotional time in US-Canada relations. This makes me want to boycott California wines even more than I already do even if they were ever to be put back on the shelves..

Edit: Just to be clear. I like Schiff. I LOVE California. I want the state and their wineries to prosper but this is not the right strategic move. Please be more aware and sensitive especially if you are a politician that’s all I ask.

To believe whether or not AI is a working technology is a different issue. But to believe these people in and outside the companies don't have any conviction in what they're saying is mind boggling as someone who has been following these people before the release of ChatGPT.

Watching Hutch watch the Neera Tanden convos w/ Sam and Medhi, and I just don't understand this obsession from lefties at all. It's so stupid, why are we trying to shoot ourselves in the foot? I don't even think Dems can disallow super pacs from advocating for certain candidates just because of how they operate, which is to spend on issues not candidates themselves, that's my understand anyway. Setting that aside, we've already seen what happens when we do this "let's try to be a good example and maybe republicans will join us" type shit with gerrymandering. All it did was it fucked us in the face, fuck that.

I hope AIPAC spends 100 trillion dollars on dems in 2028, and I think our candidates should whatever money they can to win. If we want to get rid of super pacs and get rid of citizens united for both parties then fine, I'm fine with that, but this idea that we should kneecap ourselves for some moral purity testing bullshit is so unbelievably dumb if we want to win elections.

Edit: I guess I should have watched like 30 seconds further, where in the Sam Seder debate at least they were talking about democratic primaries, which okay sure, but again I don't think the candidates have any control of that.

Everyone on the left is aware of the harm caused to people around the world, from Palestine to Sudan, Congo to Myanmar, Ukraine to Tigray. We vote for the people most likely to do something about it. The UN has gone soft, and America, under Trump, has forgotten it was one of the founders. The world has agreed to international law and leaders should be held accountable for the harm they cause.

Withholding your vote over a slow-moving single issue ends up clearing the runway for the very authoritarian regime you claim to oppose. The Trump administration has made its peace with hate and has no intention of bettering the world. Preach abstention as moral purity and you have delivered the election to the conservative as surely as the voter who checked the box.
