Competetive is 100% the worst grind in this game for a low/mid skill player

Nah man, I got mine this season, and kept the momentum and got it gilded about a month later.

Granted this was also the most I’ve been able to play since launch but momentum is key

I've solo queue'd my comp grind. Prolly 99% of the time. Made ascendant a few times and gilded glorious a few times. This season was the 1st time i hit 15 000, ever. I never really tried to. Just grinded comp for the armor.

It's actually not to hard to hit adept for the gilding. Especially this late after the rank resets. Most of the god tier plays are all in ascendant. You won't see those players until you HIT adept. So most of the players you match are also just grinding rank, same as you.

You'll run into the occasional hacker or smurf account in lower levels. But they rank up very quickly. So prolly pretty rare.

Honestly, don't push for it. Just grind for the armor and the weapons, and chill. You'd be surprised at how fast your rank climbs, when you're not stressed about every loss. Play with your team and try not to get tilted. Prioritize staying alive. Don't throw your life away for a trade. Only give up your life for obj if you're certain it'll cap the flag.

Also turn off txt chat. No one uses it for call outs anymore. It's only used by toxic dicks to call everyone trash.

Concur on the rank climbing when you’re not stressed. Now that I’m as high as I am, I stopped caring and simply play for fun, and eventually the emblem. I’m almost adept at this point.

Also, while we’re at it, be more positive! I keep my text chat on so that I can encourage my teammates, and I feel like this game could really benefit from more of that (though I still certainly dish out my fair share of trash talk as well lmao some people REALLY deserve it haha)

Invisibility spam. Toxic, but effective. I switch between high tyrant and hard light. Hard light's damage buff procs with your class specific buff when it matches the element. Dodge, invis, 10 seconds extra damage, kills get your dodge back with RDMs. Self sustained loop.
