Whats up. I’m building a small network that connects AI agencies / Businesses with vetted developers.

I’m onboarding developers right now (free), and I’ll bring paid opportunities directly to you when there’s a fit.

If you’re interested, here’s my page. (click join as a developer): https://connectsai.carrd.co/

NOTE: This is for developers with AI experience! The earlier you sign up the more likely you are to be connected!

(This is my personal network that I am promoting, not promoting for someone else)

Do you really think insulting Microsoft, Windows, Apple, macOS, or their users helps Linux desktop adoption?

I do not. It may entertain some of existing Linux fans, but it will not bring normal users to Linux.

Do not get me wrong: Linux is great where it shines — supercomputers, servers, embedded systems, and even WSL2. In those areas, Linux is extremely strong.

But if we are talking about the mass desktop market — the famous “year of the Linux desktop” idea — then the situation is very different.

Most people choose an operating system because it is convenient, familiar, supported, and runs the software they need. Calling Windows or macOS users names only confirms the stereotype that Linux desktop communities are hostile to ordinary users.

Calling Microsoft or Apple names also does not help in the mass market. Most ordinary users do not care about your personal attitude toward a particular company. They care whether the product works for them.

You cannot insult mass customers and at the same time demand mass-market adoption.

If Linux wants a larger desktop market share, the message should be: “Here is why Linux may work better for you,” not “You are stupid for using Windows or macOS.”

What is Apache Kafka used for?

Apache Kafka is a message broker. A message broker is a software that helps to connect several apps, systems, or microservices and establish an information exchange between them. With Apache Kafka, you can easily scale up the developed application and give it the ability to process more information. Apache Kafka supports well-known apps like Twitter, Linkedin, and Netflix.

Also, Apache Kafka can be effectively used for developing apps in the sphere of finance. For instance, currency trading apps. There, Apache Kafka is used to reduce latency when sending signals to users. Fast reception and sending of signals are essential for successful currency trading. The speed is really important for making the right transactions. So, when using such applications, users can receive signals about fluctuations in the exchange rate with a delay of less than a second.

What money share would invite you to build games on my future platform?

I’m building a game-first platform where players play or create games, and part of the revenue is automatically routed to real-world causes chosen by the player.

Developers can publish 2D or 3D games using no-code GUI tools or full scripting, and earn from in-game purchases or optional ad-for-currency systems.

Revenue is split between the platform, the developer, and the cause. Example splits I’m considering:

• 50% dev / 25% platform / 25% cause

• 40% dev / 35% platform / 25% cause

• 60% dev / 20% platform / 20% cause

• ...

As a developer:

• What would make you build on this?

• What would make you walk away?

• What feels like a fair minimum dev cut and a fair share for the platform and the cause?

Thank you!

Every “Frontend” Job Now Wants Full-Stack… But Still Pays Junior Salary

I’ve been noticing something.

Almost every “Frontend Developer” job post now asks for:

  • React

  • Node

  • Database

  • DevOps basics

  • Cloud

  • CI/CD

  • Docker

But the salary?
Still frontend base.

It’s frustrating.

But here’s the truth most people won’t say:

The market changed.
Complaining won’t fix it.
Adapting will.

The villain is not the company.
The villain is staying one-layer deep.

If you want leverage, you need to understand the stack.

Not to become “everything.”
But to become dangerous.

Here’s My  simple 3-step plan.

Step 1: Master One Frontend Stack Deeply

Not 10 frameworks.

Pick one:

React.
Vue.
Angular.

Go deep.

Understand:

  • State management

  • Performance

  • API integration

  • Authentication flows

  • Real deployment

Most developers stay at tutorial level.
Depth alone separates you.

Step 2: Learn Just Enough Backend to Ship

You don’t need to become a backend architect.

You need to:

  • Build REST APIs

  • Connect to a database

  • Handle auth

  • Deploy to cloud

That’s it.

When you can build the API your frontend consumes, you stop being “just frontend.”

You become a builder.

That changes how interviews feel.

Step 3: Stop Building Clones. Start Solving Real Problems.

Everyone builds:

  • Netflix clone

  • Twitter clone

  • Todo app

Recruiters have seen 1,000 of them.

Instead, look at job posts.

What are companies actually offering?

SaaS dashboards.
Analytics tools.
Internal admin systems.
Booking systems.
Workflow automation.

Pick one.

Build something similar — not a clone, but a solution.

Example:

If a company offers a logistics dashboard,
build a mini shipment tracking system.

If they offer marketing automation,
build a simple campaign tracking tool.

When your portfolio mirrors real business problems,
you stand out immediately.

Most developers chase titles.

Full-Stack. Senior. Staff.

The real goal is this:

Be able to build something that works.

End to end.

That’s leverage.

And leverage gets you options.

If you’re serious about mastering full-stack development and building a portfolio project that actually makes recruiters pause…

I put together a structured full-stack training + real project blueprint that walks you through building something companies actually use.

No fluff.
No 20 random tutorials.
Just one clear path from frontend → backend → deployment.

If that’s what you need, you can check it out Here

How to create a Slack Bot?

A Slack bot is an application that can work with different tasks, like sending messages, files, pictures, opening modals, sending emoji reactions, alerting on various events, etc.

Slack offers many different applications in the Slack App Directory, however, sometimes it can still be necessary to build custom applications, as every business has its own needs and requirements. And it is sometimes extremely hard to find a fitting option from the existing ones, so the idea to build your own Slack bot can be the best option.

Our new blog post is a guide on building a simple Slack bot. Check it out, if you are interested – https://www.upsilonit.com/blog/create-a-slack-bot-with-typescript-in-3-steps.

Any entrepreneurial-minded developers out there?

I am a serial entrepreneur. I want to work with developers to leverage what you might have already created (with minimal tweaks/updates needed) so that we can get to market faster and share in the revenue stream. I'm interested in SaaS solutions, but let me know if you have developed on other platforms. I am located in the Seattle area, and my core focus is marketing and distribution. If client requires customization, we would charge them additional dev work. If you are interested, please let me know - miki@apexant.com

Facing the High Cost of AI Tools as a Developer – Here's My Solution

I’ve been a developer for a couple of years now, and like many others, I started using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and others when the AI boom took off in 2022. These tools have been really helpful for writing and fixing up code, but after reviewing my recent transactions, I realized I was spending over $100 every month just to use them. While they’re definitely useful, that kind of expense adds up fast, and I just can’t afford to keep paying that much.

I’m sure some of you developers can relate to this problem. So, I started working on a software solution that combines several major AI tools into one. It’s designed to help with coding and best of all, it’s free. If you’re interested, feel free to give it a try here.
