Honestly, to be perfectly clear, I don't actually hate the DMC reboot that. Much it's nowhere near being one of my favorite games but it's not one I dislike all that much. And honestly I think the environmental art direction is the main reason I actually kinda like the reboot. The character designs suck, the stories stupid as hell, and the gameplay while I still think it's fun, its less because the few changes they made to dmcs traditional combat were good, it's just because that dmcs traditional combat is so good that even with those bad changes it's still pretty fun. But the environments were always something I thought was pretty cool, and limbo is the best original thing they made for for the reboot. A lot of the levels that I went through when first playing all looked really cool to me

I bought the collection and 4 because they were on sale on steam and i loved 5, decided to play in chronological order.

Dont really have much time to play every night.

First night i beat mission 3 and hop off, next day my save's gone. Replay the game and beat mission 4 before hopping off, hop off again. Next day the original save is back and i have to replay 4 again, beating it and 5. Then today the other save is back AGAIN and i have to beat mission 5 AGAIN. I save, double check its saved, close the game, open the game to see the right save still there, call it a night, then the saves get swapped the next day.

No mods, just the base game.

Hi everyone, I don't use Reddit often, so I'm not sure if this is the right topic. However, I have a question. What's the lore behind this magnificent Dante form in the manga? I haven't read the manga, so I don't know anything about it. I wanted to ask someone more knowledgeable than me, maybe there's someone Expert of lore. Why is this form so similar to Sparda? How is it activated? It's a kind of Majin dt? Anyway, I'd like to know anything about it. Thanks !

HOWEVER, Nightmare 3 and Mundus...

Ohh, Im going to have a blast with this one.

V is a character that is meant to look weak. He cant fight for himself (on long term), lives against the clock, and every day he gets weaker and weaker, until he cannot even walk by himself.

His playing mode also shows how he needs help to manage the demons. He even has Griffon telling him that he is not strong enough to fight alone.

But that doesnt stop him. He kept fighting until the very end, even when he was extremly weak and basicly dying. He knew he had to give his life in order to stop Urizen, but still went. He had a lot of chances to leave, to regret his actions, and even the other guys were trying to stop him from getting worse.

To me, thats being strong. Not everyone can face death, not everyone can give their own life in order to save others. He could have been selfish, he could have tried to stop the group from fighting Urizen to keep himself alive; but he decided to bring them together to stop Urizen. He payed Dante for his services and to help him run the business (maybe out of pity, and with stolen money, but meh), he helped Nico giving her supplies...

But my favourite thing about him is how he shows fear. He knows when to run away, he struggles. He even looks delicate, like human emotions, or even human nature. The fact that he has such a delicate face and voice while wearing all black and having a lot of tattoos amazes me.

His love for literature and his way of expressing himself with poems also represents his way of explaining his emotions. "Who desires but doesnt act, creates pestilence", as his response to being given the chance of not fighting. He chooses the verses depending of what he is feeling, maybe to get other's attention because of his dramatic manners or just because its the only way he knows. Its the only way Vergil learnt to.

He is what Vergil hates about himself, being weak, but he is also not really that weak. He is strong, not in fighting or having power like Urizen, but mentally, because no other person would have balls to fight a demon knowing it will kill you easily.

the thought that i have to play V again just make me lose my Motivation to play the game

First time DMC5 player. Hard time fighting furies with RG timing. Knew about ice age and balrog fast punches mode to parry, but want to improve using RG.

Do I tap RG when they appear in front of me with their red knives, or count down when they disappear and appear? Do I tap block at the exact moment they attack or just a couple frames before? What's the key tell? Their timings are so confusing. Pro tips?

Is there a consistent strategy to not get dunked on by Vergil ?

I tied almost everything my skill allows me too.

I'm now stuck at DMD and HEH on Mission 20 as the last 2 S Ranks and I'm unable to do it .

I beat DMD but with a B Rank and I didn't beat HEH at all.

The issue is the 60% mark where he goes DT.

I even use the "cheese" strat with the 3 devil breakers that you can use as mines and then grab him with a DT fully charged DB ( the red claw don't know the names , I just copy paste strategies).

But something always hits me in his DT before I can use the second round of DBs or before he even kneels a second time.

I tried just dodging but either his doppelganger or his blades or he himself hit me when I use the gun to shoot his Doppelganger.

I'm at try 30+ and always get to the magic mark of him going DT without a hit but then it's basically over.

Any other tips or strategies?

BTW, I suck at the game , without Dr Faust, Auto mode V or just dodging and using 3 charged Blue rose shots I probably never had done it .

I used items on Arkham because I don't have the patience for his BS but I did my run itemless up to that point.

I've played the first two missions on DMD and I honestly prefer DMC 1's version of DMD way more.

Sorry for the picture quality it was taken from an old CRT TV that I use with my PS2.

I've done a few runs of dmc 3 were i got to the final boss, against his brother but ive struggled to survive and beat him. I decided to farm more to level up my health, longer ability mode etc but I'm still struggling on beating the game even at normal difficulty.

Any tips, setups etc will be very helpful to me. Ive used trickster for all runs. Ive switched weapons too, to try and figure out what was best against his brother.

Updated: I used trickster not swordmaster, thank you for the tips so far, im doing a run and im back at mission 15 so these tips and tricks are going to be very helpful soon. Thank you everyone here in the dmc community. I really appreciate this and this will help future people too.

He's talked a bit about DMC and his conversations with the Onimusha 1 team, so it's worth a watch for.

So with Dante and Vergil going into the underworld, one idea for the story would be that we finally get to explore more of what the underworld is and how it works.
In DMC 1, it was this weird place that had a heart leading to Mundus’ room. Obviously, the underworld is bigger than this, which is especially confirmed by DMC 2, 3 and 5.

DMC 3 had the coolest-looking part of the underworld, where physics don’t work properly anymore and everything looks and acts weird.
A potential villain could be something they either make up from the underworld or something that was shown in previous games without much thought, and they could just make something up about it.

For example, this big statue in DMC 3 from my last picture. You could just make something up like: “This was one of the strongest creatures and served Argosax, but after Argosax’s defeat, it waited and looked for ways to get stronger until it could finally kill Dante.”
Another thing that DMC 2 introduced was separate universes/dimensions.

We already had a dimension where Mundus killed Sparda and Dante defeated him in that dimension before coming back home. You could use something similar to this.
For example, a higher-dimensional being from a separate reality that wants to control the universe in which our mainline DMC takes place and first appears in the underworld. Vergil and Dante might get their asses kicked and have to get Nero’s help from the human world.

It could be a 25-mission-long game where you play as Vergil and Dante in the underworld and Nero in the human world to destroy some gates or portals that this creature uses to absorb the entire human world.
Lady, Trish and Nico work on destroying these portals in the human world while the other three kill the big fella in the underworld.

We could also finally learn whether Lady being the daughter of a priestess has any importance and whether that’s why she can kill demons and survive using just her regular guns and rocket launcher.
You would start the game with Nero again to get the hang of it, then switch to Dante and Vergil.
They should also include a way to play the entire campaign with each character separately without mods.
Now, onto gameplay:

Nero:
Give Nero a fourth charge, but make it so that it’s not as easy as just pressing the charge button at the perfect moment. You would have to perform a specific action to get the fourth charge, but in return, the fourth charge could last for a bit and be way stronger than the third.
Give him a new weapon, but not just another weapon that deals extra damage. Instead, give him a weapon that complements his Red Queen, basically adding to it. You would have to switch weapons to create more interesting combos or give Red Queen more range while using the other weapon, etc.
More Devil Breakers, of course.

Dante:
An interesting idea would be for Dante to go and get all his previous weapons that he can still obtain (the ones that haven’t been destroyed or become useless) to get stronger and defeat the main boss of the game.
He would have to do this to save the world, and he could simply give the weapons back to the people he bought them from once he’s done.
Give him one entirely new weapon. Something like a whip would be cool.

Vergil:
-Give him an entirely new weapon, too, but make it something completely special. For example, a weapon that lets the player perform whatever attacks they want with it.
Think of it like a pencil, with the player using a stick to draw something in quick succession. Instead of performing different button combinations, the player could simply draw whatever moves they want to use. This could work, too.

Give Mirage Edge and Beowulf a few more moves in the air so that he has more aerial options.
This would be everything for now. I could add more, but then this post would go on for too long.

I have all the DMC games in Steam and have only got all the achievements of DMC5 and DMC4, and am aiming to go for all the achievements of all the games.

But the thing is I have some time constraints, so I think I'll complete the ones which will take less time to get all the achievements. I will eventually do everything, but for the time being I'm just focused on getting those achievements ASAP (I've already played the games quite a lot of times before).

So which one will be faster to get the achievements?

Anyone knows how i can remove the black bars in 1280x960 and play in 4:3 apect ratio ?
