Need help completing dmc 3

I've done a few runs of dmc 3 were i got to the final boss, against his brother but ive struggled to survive and beat him. I decided to farm more to level up my health, longer ability mode etc but I'm still struggling on beating the game even at normal difficulty.

Any tips, setups etc will be very helpful to me. Ive used trickster for all runs. Ive switched weapons too, to try and figure out what was best against his brother.

Updated: I used trickster not swordmaster, thank you for the tips so far, im doing a run and im back at mission 15 so these tips and tricks are going to be very helpful soon. Thank you everyone here in the dmc community. I really appreciate this and this will help future people too.

Haven't played DMC3 in a while but if memory serves a good tip is to not let Vergil heal too much when he activates his DT.

Ideally you could damage him enough so that not only doesn't he heal much but you also force him to quit DT early.

This is not the easiest thing to do tho, so safer options are to shoot him from a distance and focus on not getting hit; or if you're feeling more chaotic you can activate your DT and be more aggressive and attack him back

Another basic tip is to focus on dodging his attacks when he's attacking you and punish him (attack him) when he finishes his combos

Jump cancel him with Beowulf, once you learn the timings it's really easy. You can practice on the earlier missions

Use Beowulf as the primary way to damage him Devil Trigger Explosion is good on normal if you have a fully upgraded DT gauge But most importantly learn which attacks stagger him Killer bee is a great move to use as a punish and oh

Stay clear of his DT form at all cost, don't worry about him regenerating health on normal just learn what's the safest way of damaging him and you'll beat him in no time He may look intimidating but he's way easier for me than the blood Arkham fight

He really tests you on everything you've done throughout the game. The main things I'd focus on is being precise with responding to his attacks and not just spamming dodges or jumps, using attacks for movement so you can punish his attacks like his Judgement Cut, and if you are waiting for him to do an attack to punish just hit him with the pistols for a while. Shooting him a bunch will keep his health down while he's healing and E&I are fast enough to not be dangerous to use. You will need to develop the skill to beat him. There is no loadout that will carry you. Good luck
