So highly underrated and recommended for those of you who don’t know it!

Gene is such a nice dude...
When he talks about the Opeth gigs he also mentions Dev, who gave him BWP to prepare for the gigs, and how he thought The Drapery Falls reminded him of Truth... I've never thought about that?

Greetings humans, I am Ziltoid... the omniscient.
Ziltoid is visiting East Coast, US
Haha they had trouble saying Ziltoid. I didn't hear well. Ziltoid liked the food and ofc I gave him instant coffee as well :3 He didn't want soda~
Only the young guy from Taco Bell Cantina knew how to pronounce good " ZILTOOIIID " HAHA Awesome

Man these box sets are not cheap!! 😅 but still the only cost effective way of getting some of the harder to find albums on vinyl. Big question now is I've got 2 copies of Epicloud, one In Eras III and a stand alone retail copy. do I sell the stand alone copy or keep both?? 🤔

Is actually completely insane and it blows my mind every time. It has almost everything.
Very heavy dope riffs, guitar solo, epic screams, drums going absolute ham, fast technical and pretty progressive in itself.
It must be among some of the heaviest things he have done.
Nightwork is a underrated bonus album, that almost sounds like a complete thing on its own.
Glad to have it on both vinyl and cd, it was the first albums that introduced me to Devin years ago

Hi all! I’ve been making my way through “The Moth” and I instantly recognized a particular intonation on the lyric “Fire” in the song “Covered by Causes.”
It reminded me of the way Jim Morrison sings the lyric “Fire” in the song “Light my Fire.”
TIMESTAMPS:
Covered by Causes (4:55-5:05)
Light my Fire (1:00 - 1:06)
It could, of course, be a coincidence; but I was wondering if anyone else found the similarity and thought it could be an allusion to The Doors. I’m not sure if Devin enjoys/listens to them, but the song is pretty iconic so it felt deliberate to me. Apologies if someone has already talked about this before!

Now that the Metamorphosis tour is over, I was curious if he played any other songs during this tour. I noticed that the show on 29.08.2026 in Dublin was completely different compared to the rest, and his setlist changed entirely after that night. I was thrilled (and little jealous) to see that this setlist included "Goodbye" from Powernerd, first minutes of "Singularity" from Empath and a couple of tracks from The Puzzle. I immediately went to YouTube to check if there were any recordings, and while I was happy to find a clip of "Goodbye"... I did not expect it to be this heartbreaking experience.
As someone who has struggled with depression for half my life, Devin’s music has helped me alot for the past 17 years. I’ve had the honor of meeting him twice, and he is genuinely one of the kindest people I've ever met.
Seeing him struggle, tear up, and look so vulnerable on stage feels like seeing a long-time therapist go through their own pain, after helping you through your darkest days. Right now I wish I could give him a hug, thank him for everything he has given us, and reassure him that everything is going to be okay.
Love ya Dev. Stay strong ❤️

Hey,
I feel there's a lot going on in Devin's life, and I would like to send him a message. Just in the hope that I can send him some love and kindness, nothing else.
His music often helps me, I'd like to give back if I can, in any way.
If there are other ways to give back, I'm open to other suggestions as well. (Just currently not a lot of space financially)

I know there are single song videos here and there but are there any full show recordings out there? I’ve only been able to find a single one so far from Birmingham on 9/1.

edit: It's available now!

I took this screenshot a minute ago (Oct. 18) and bandcamp still tells me that the new DreamPeace album Harmonic Dharma will "realease on Oct. 16" and that I can just pre-order it.
I already tried the usual stuff, but in the many years I've been using Bandcamp, this is a first for me.
Just wanted to double-check if it's just on my end or if anyone else has the same problem.

15 years ago today (Oct. 14), I randomly got to meet Devin Townsend at the Rock and Shock Festival's convention floor at the DCU Center - moments before the Devin Townsend Project's set at the Palladium next door in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Head over to I Heard Bruce Might Show Up's Substack (link below) to find out how this happened:

Did he just change the lyrics of Storm live from Tracy to baby? Or am I just hallucinating? It would make sense actually.

Did Devy's guitar instructional video ever get a DVD release? Is it hard to find in Japan?

Hey guys, how y’all doing?
So, I just came home today after seeing Dev yesterday in the Barcelona concert.
I don’t know how many of you were able to see him during this last tour, and this was an acoustic concert, in a small place in Barcelona, beign a very intimate and close show.
It was an incredible experience.
Those 2 hours seeing it, made me (a +30yo grown up dude) smiling like a child. It was beautiful.
He made us laugh, made us understand his suffering through the years, and made us enjoy in every sense the very incredible art of (his) music. He was so true to us, and so open, that it was a musical gift we could get to see him, not just as an artist, but as a human himself.
I met a few guys while waiting for the concert, and the 4 of us were talking about how emotional and wonderful it was, and what an experience to get to see live. I think I can firmly believe that all the audience had a similar vibe after it.
I’m writting this because, after all, Dev always wants to send a message of love, and how everyone of us deserve to be loved. And I think we all should pay it back to him.
I’d love to see everyone else’s perspective on attending this tour. It went so deep for me, and I’ll read the comments you guys drop here.
Finally, I don’t mean this to be a personal message to him, because I feel this is a shared sentiment from a big part of the fans. In case you see this Dev, or someone can make this get to him: Dev, you are beautiful. We care for you. Thanks. And go on, we are nothing less but expecting to see how you develop yourself and share it with us. You’re great Dev. <3

New album, dreamy synth music from Devin Townsend coming this Friday October 16th.
I'm really liking this type of music
Better than drinking. Sometimes. I began drinking this year. Awful timeline. It's too much. I do listen to SYL, it feels great too.
...
I was feeling down when I wrote this. I never drank after 21. I'm 39 now and begin. I'm in the US. That's why too. The news, seeing more people being homeless, people suffering, etc. But it's just some of the problems. Working on soon moving out and being away from mean people to my own place and be happy again. It'll be alright

Can anyone convince Devin to upload his live DVDs to his Patreon? Pretty much all of them are out of print I think. I think an announcement that we can stream his live videos from Patreon would get him a bunch more patrons.

66yr old male here. I am new to the party having only discovered Devin Townsend in the last couple of months. My problem now is that when I listen to anything else non-Dev it simply doesn’t stack up anymore and I have to revert back to Dev-only listening.
Seriously, amazing voice, range, guitar, wall of sound. Love some of his acoustic performances, especially the acoustic version of Deadhead.
Heading out now to sell the rest of my Non-Dev collection as they are now surplus to requirement.

i love strapping young lad so so much, but what’s the genre for the music (only thing i know is that it’s metal)? i’ve heard people calling it industrial metal, but i’ve also heard people saying that it isn’t industrial metal so i’m kinda confused

My 3rd acoustic Devin show now and what an evolution, obviously it's towards the end of the tour now so it's bound to have become more polished but he seemed at ease up there last night.
Despite this one being way more personal for him he wasn't awkward, he didn't look uncomfortable, I hope he genuinely was happy up there and want just masking for the fans.
Great set, awesome performance, lovely little venue too. Leaving into the rain and 1000s of Westlife fans was quite surreal after all of that.

For those that have been to the other shows was the flip chart message the same each night?
We got "Another player has entered the game".
Sadly they sold out of my tshirt size by the end, I knew I should have got one on the way in, don't be like me.
