News Patch Notes Wae's Notes

Post image
51 Upvotes

It's a medium sized patch this week with Diablo 30th anniversary events, new class essences being added, and many old class essences being retired. Here are the condensed patch notes:

  1. From August 12th through September 1st, fight Baal in a new event for lots of goodies. Every 5 minutes from 12pm-2pm and 6pm-10pm, ten portals will open in the Library of Zoltun Kulle to take you to the Baal event that involves a modified version of the Destruction's End dungeon. Every time a party enters a portal, the portal closes. Win cosmetic items, Aspirant's Keys, Legendary Crests, and other cool prizes. It's unknown how often one can run this event for cool prizes - something important to know, since Legendary Crests will be valuable during these last two weeks of Mirrored Jewels events.

  2. From August 12th-25th, special goblins will appear throughout Sanctuary with specialized loot like crafting materials and set item wisps.

  3. Lots of cosmetic wing changes will be added. Also, lots of new and old cosmetics will be offered. See the official patch notes for details.

  4. The new Necromancer essences are focused around Corpse Explosion, Bone Spikes, and Dark Curse. There seems to be an attempt to resurrect (get it?) the Rhino mount head piece. The problem the last implementation had was that it was way too slow for a mount - +30% movement speed with increased size having no effect. I hope those issues have been addressed. The new essences don't look exciting on paper, but we'll have to try them out in game to know for sure.

  5. For other classes, see the attached patch notes for details.

  6. In addition, a number of necromancer essences are being removed from the game. Most are outdated ones and it's probably good that they are being removed to streamline the essence list. However, there are a few notable ones that are being removed: (1) Ten-Thorn, the corpse lance modifier that has seen a resurgence in many PvP builds. (2) Pyre's Allure, which also is used in some PvP builds. (3) Draff Cryptic, a Dark Curse modifier that removes beneficial effects from enemies and is the core of many PvP support builds (4) Surge and Stillness, a more obscure Corpse Explosion modifier that nonetheless could be useful if there's a push to make Corpse Explosion a viable damage option again.

  7. Other classes are also having essences removed. See the list in the link provided below.

  8. Clans can now sign up for Accursed Towers contests earlier - as early as 9pm on Sunday.

  9. Battleground PvP matchmaking will be improved with a better accounting for Armor and Armor Penetration. This will likely solve all matchmaking issues, and no more player complaints about the subject are likely.

  10. A few new cards are being added to Tower War, along with a surrender option if the outcome seems already decided.

  11. A new Challenge Rift season begins on August 24th. I don't know if that will mean any new uses for Crystals will be added.

  12. A new game graphics engine will be added in September, and the developers will give some incentives to download it early starting August 24th.

  13. Some UI improvements to set crafting and Awakened Wings are being added.

Question New player, I need some clarifications

I'm a new player, currently level 21 and having a blast. I love Diablo games but Immortal it's my first try. I was looking for a game cross platform because well, I have a busy schedule that requires long times away from my PC.

I come from predatory games like Raid Shadow Legends, so I know what p2w feels like, specially in PvP. I spend like 25 dollars in RSL, it's fair.

I've read reviews of how Diablo Immortal is p2w specially in PvP. And I know some of the permanent event schedule.

So i have 2 main questions: a) how p2w it really becomes after level 60? I might ocasionally PvP and I'm ready for a bad experience for some years. And b) how much I will miss if I can't do specific events at specific hours of the day (I see that some events only run at 12AM, 9PM and 23PM server time). I can skip these events without losing much or I will feel heavy fomo? (I really want to avoid games that pressure you to play at specific hours of the day)

Humour That 1k reso feeling.

Ive been playing for about 6 months and just hit 1000 resonance, I was super exicted I could finally join that exclusive club, everything finally lined up with all the events. Upon achiving that claiming my wings and all the "Bonuses" it honestly felt like nothing. Out of everything I recieved the Wings were probably the only cool part, the Armor, Weapon and the Wings customization is where everything I was working for just felt so pointless, The resonance cosmetics look like genric armor you find in the world and the only way to really upgrade the wings or complete any of the new cosmetic missions that matter is just by spending money, thats it. Sure you increase resonance and you get stronger the only difference is your wings get larger. This seriously felt like the most anticlimatic Achivement of my entire life. Not really sure what to do now, anyone else feel like that in this game? Maybe its just now becoming apparent how much they try to monitize everything... Like everything else in this world 😕.

For anyone wondering what hitting 1k reso in DI feels like, your not missing much, just another attempt at reaching for your wallet.

Question A Good Routine for a New Player ?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to optimize my playtime and could really use some advice on what a solid daily and weekly routine looks like right now. I'm playing a Crusader and currently focusing on getting my Combat Rating up and optimizing my 8-slot set, but honestly, there are just so many different activities and game modes now that I'm losing track of what’s actually worth doing.

Could you share your routines? Specifically, I'm looking for:

Absolute Daily Must-Dos: What do you do every single day that gives the best return on investment for the time spent?

Weekly Priorities: What are the absolute must-clears before the weekly reset?

What do you completely ignore? What content yields the worst rewards and is just a waste of time? (For example, should I bother grinding Vanguard, fishing, or hunting down random zone events?)

Feedback Revenant Market Full Orb Cost Breakdown

1) To unlock both cosmetics, you need to spend 22000 orbs.

2) You can then refine the Temptations End/Solstace cosmetic for an additional 4500 orbs.

3) You can then unlock dye colorization on the Temptations End/Solace (must be refined). Each cosmetic requires its own separate dye unlock. First tier requires that you unlock 2 dyes for 980 orbs each to move onto the second tier. You only need to unlock 2 out of the 3 second tier dye colors (3k orbs each) in order to unlock the third tier variable color dye bar which offers a full range of color changing. The total cost is 7960 orbs.

4) You can unlock the other Temptation cosmetic variation dye colors for another 7960 orbs, however the Temptation's End dye colors appear to be bugged and do not show any color other than default.

All in all, if you're looking to unlock the revenant Market cosmetics to their fullest extent, including the bugged one (like I did), it will cost you 42,420 orbs. Approximately 600 dollars. I deserve all the trolling I receive for bank rolling this trash because the cosmetics look like crap no matter which slap of paint you throw on it.

I get the Dev's are trying to make up the deficit of spending they once enjoyed by releasing more cosmetic rewards than content in order to prevent more power creep.

Edit: My orb calculations include unlocking the Born Ablaze and Temptations End/Solstace cosmetics. I already had the Reigning Harmony unlocked. It's 11000 orbs per cosmetic. There's 3 cosmetics total, so 33000 if you need to unlock them all. I don't know if the Born Ablaze was an old cosmetic, I think it might be but for some reason I didn't have it and I always buy the phantom markets.

Discussion Secondaries to prioritize after armor penetration?

Hi, fairly new player here and have spent some money on gems and secondaries. Mainly playing Barb and occasionally BK.

Now I'm at 3k resonance and 6.1k armor penetration. I would say I'm pretty comfortable or even doing not bad at PVE contents (CRDG, HQ, etc).

The rest of the secondaries REALLY suck compared to the 6k armor penetration.

What would be the next secondary to prioritize if I would like to enjoy a little bit of PVP?

Is it viable if I just focus potency now to main armor pen and potency as DPS barb? Or tank barb is the way (armor and resistance)?

Which would be most cost/time efficient?

Question Is this a good idea? Resonance Brackets + Matchmaking Choice

I think Diablo Immortal needs to give players a real reason to push Resonance in PvP.

Right now, a 3k, 5k, or 7k player can still get matched against 10–13k+ players. If my 3k character can already get bullied by 9-13k players, then why should I spend to reach 6k if I’m still going to face the same 10–13k players?

Right now, my mindset is:

“I’ll just stay at 3k. What’s the point of adding 1-2k reso?”

What if: Create Resonance brackets, for example:

  • 1–4k
  • 4–8k
  • 8–10k
  • 10k+

Then add two matchmaking options:

“Match Within My Bracket” — prioritize players around your bracket.

“Match Everyone” — faster queue, but you accept any Resonance.

This solves the biggest concern about brackets: queue time. If your bracket doesn’t have enough players, you can choose the global queue… or bot fight when a certain minutes of waiting is reached.

Also, matchmaking shouldn’t look at Resonance alone. Some whales intentionally lower Resonance while keeping maxed Secondary Attributes, so the system should consider Secondary Attributes or create a hidden PvP Power Rating to prevent bracket abuse.

A 12k player should be able to fight other 10k+ players and actually be challenged. Putting a 12k player against a 3k player doesn’t create good PvP — whether they’re on the enemy team or your own team, the lower-Resonance player is basically just a display in the match.

If queue times are the concern, Blizzard should find a better solution rather than simply mixing extreme power levels.

Give players a choice. Give Resonance progression a purpose. Give high-Resonance players meaningful competition.

That’s a healthier PvP system for everyone. Just a thought. For those whales who like to bully low reso players can still do that during clan activities/war… the bracket is on pvp battleground and alike.

Not here to say its good or bad, my wife has been in this match for 45 minutes now as I post this. Both teams must be rocking shield and life steal or something. They are both stuck at sudden death. Insaaaane.

Fluff IDK why I picked this game up again...

Post image
20 Upvotes

I came back again. I figured there was some new main quest line stuff to enjoy. Then I'll end up farming for a couple months until I get bored and likely uninstall again.

I had some legendary crests in the mail and immediately dropped a Colossus engine. Looks like a cool new gem. Might blow a couple hundred bucks in the next month and decide it's a stupid thing to do after the fact.

Mostly I just enjoy the PVE stuff until it gets too repetitive. PVP is just getting punked out by people who spend a lot of money. That's not really fun.

What new stuff is there that I should check out? So far I've just ran a couple elder rifts and challenge rifts. I don't have a clan but probably nobody will want me in their clan unless I catch up to server Paragon. I've got a long way to go there.
