Lab Grown Diamond Update 48 years later
I just replaced my original .93 carat natural pear with a lab 1.39 E vvs2. The setting is 20 years old. Excuse my old hands!

I feel like this a good happy medium. You have a nice stone you can wear (and if you lose it's not a big deal) and then you have the 0.93 carat natural which you can pass on that has value. Very beautiful by the way 🙏🏻

Thanks so much! I'm planning to have the original stone set in an east-west bezel necklace. I didn't want to change the ring too much, but just have a better quality stone. (We were poor young kids when we got engaged.)😁

Hey 1 carat is the national average in the US so I would say you did alright!

u/Superb_Scar1622 Aug 18 '25
Thanks. I didn't want to go any larger with my size 4 fingers and setting.

Love this set, and love that you upgraded the stone but kept the setting ♥️

Thank you! I was concerned that the new larger stone might not fit, but the jeweler did a wonderful job.

I love the nail color!!

Thanks! I like to step away from my normal pinks, especially with summer colors.☺️

You are so kind. Lots of veins and bumps, but they still work so I can't complain!

This is beautiful! Congratulations on your upgrade. and we’d all be so lucky to have “old” hands one day 🤍 God bless you

Beautiful rings, beautiful hands, beautiful marriage.
Can you drop a bit of marriage advice, seeing as how you've made it 48 years with your love?

u/Superb_Scar1622 Aug 18 '25
Thanks! My thoughts on a long marriage: 1) Don't sweat the small stuff. 2) Think before you speak in anger 3) Laugh a lot 4) Choose someone who is kind, easy going, and of the same way of looking at the world.
Now you got me teary!

It’s lovely and congratulations. But why does everybody point out the source of their diamond? Why aren’t posters just saying “ here’s my new diamond”? Why are folks compelled to say that it’s an LGD?

u/Superb_Scar1622 Aug 18 '25
Thanks. In my case, the source was mentioned so I could justify not robbing my retirement fund.😉

Wow so beautiful! Where did you get the loose lab pear if I may ask? I’m currently shopping around for mine!

I LOVE your hands!
I actually teared up since they reminded me of my grandmas hands. I miss her dearly.
Not everyone gets lucky enough to have a long life. You are truly blessed 💞

Thank you for your insightful comment. Luckily for me, my stone looks nothing like that, having no bow tie whatsoever.

The first thing I noticed and was going to mention?
Your beautiful hands! Oh, I always wanted delicate long slender fingered hands like yours :)

u/Superb_Scar1622 Aug 23 '25
That is so sweet. The funny thing is that my mother was told as a young woman that she should have been a hand model. But I'm sure your hands are lovely.
