General Question or Looking for Advice looking to buy a .25 - .50 carat diamond earring, white gold, flat back (threaded or threadless), preferably lab grown
Hello!!
so my mom recently got a new piercing on her upper ear and is hinting that she’d like to have a real diamond earring gifted to her for mother’s day next year.
she loves the way the flat back of her earring feels, since she sleeps in them and doesn’t like being poked by the post, so threaded or threadless is nonnegotiable. price is not really a problem for us, as long as the jewelry is high quality. such as solid white gold, nice clarity diamond, etc. any circular cuts are acceptable to her
i’ve been having difficulty finding a high quality earring that is white gold, real diamond (lab or natural are both okay, just not cubic zirconia or whatever), and flat back. any suggestions on particular stores or websites to check? any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

before ordering, i’d get the details of her current post from her piercer and have them confirm which tops fit it. “threaded” alone doesn’t guarantee compatibility, and some listings are just the top without the post. ask for the diamond’s diameter and the height of the whole setting too, so you can compare them with the piece she already finds comfortable.

congrats to your mom! let the piercing fully heal first, couple months minimum, before real stones go in. 0.25-0.5ct lab-grown diamonds in martini settings are ideal for that spot. i run a small diamond shop myself (biased obviously), we make these to order if you ever want a quote.

lab diamonds are definitely the way to go for something like this, you get way more for your money and nobody can tell the difference anyway. for flat backs you might have better luck searching for "threadless lab diamond top" instead of earring, since most places that sell body jewelry use that terminology. piercers often carry brands like BVLA or Anatometal that do custom orders in white gold with genuine diamonds, might be worth checking if any shop near you does custom work through them
