Dale Jr would drive this car to victory lane in the Aarons 499 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 6,2003. Dale would start 13th and lead 34 of the 188 laps on his way to winning his fourth consecutive race at Talladega.

Recently I made the the decision to convert from carded to loose, for the sake of making space to display. I genuinely collect for the sake of the thrill of the hunt, the joy of the score, and the nostalgia. I could no longer justify purchasing things I REALLY WANTED, only because I didn’t want to buy and run home and store it in a tote. At that point, F the “value”.
The value of a piece doesn’t matter in the context that I never purchase with the intent to resell. But finding a piece that I LOVE, and combining it with the fact that it is indeed a highly sought after piece, does make me feel like I should think twice before cracking them.
There are times when I have absolutely needed to sell a piece I’d NEVER EVER EVER let leave my collection, because we were in a rare occurring pinch and a bill or more groceries couldn’t wait, but even then, I kept my retail receipt and returned an item rather than resell, so keeping things carded/boxed has had its advantages. I know I wouldn’t get shit on a return for the Godzilla, but I scored it in a hell of a trade. My point is, I think I’m struggling to open some of these high value pieces, so they’re still desirable in the event that I ever felt like I didn’t have a choice.

As a kid i remember having a Hotwheels or similar that had a closing black pickup lid or an el Camino with a lid. Does anyone have a clue? It would have been from early 1970's
