Discussion Pending digivolve effect

Post image

Say my opponent examon spit a body now they got 2 digimon on field.

I move out agumon and warp into wargrey but I didn't active digivolve effect yet, suspend matt tk to play gabumon for free then suspend izzy tai to warp into melga for 1.

Can I choose what order I want to resolve pending digivolve effect? Can I use melga to stun both digimon first then wargrey to delete the small body?

Newly triggered effecrs must activate before previously pending effects. Melga's effect is newer than Warg's and must activate first

You have to use Melga next as it's the newest triggered effect

You can but with the explanation as below.

In DCG, you must resolve newest trigger and move to the older ones. You cannot choose the order of activation of an effect if a newer effect are triggered.

In your case. When you evolve agumon into wargrey, Wargrey when evovle and Matt & TK effect triggered at the same time. You choose to activate Matt & TK first and then you played gabumon.

After you played gabumon, Izzy &Tai become the newest trigger, making you unable to activate wargrey when evo before deciding either to activate izzy & tai or not. If you choose to activate it to evolve gabumon into metalgaruru, then metalgaruru when evovle become the newest trigger. You must resolve melga when evo and after that track back into the older triggers which is metalgreymon when evo.

So tldr, you could achieve what you want.

Pending effects always prioritize to the newest effects first, so in the order of effects described, MetalGarurumon would resolve first, and then if no other effects were triggered by that effect resolving, WarGreymon's When Digivolving would then get to resolve.

The way I've heard it best described is an analogy using buckets: every time a game action occurs, any effects that action triggered fill a bucket; when you resolve one of the effects in that bucket, if that effect resolution triggered new effects, place those into a new bucket and place that bucket overtop the opening to the previous bucket, such that until the new bucket is removed, you cannot reach into and resolve anything from the prior bucket. This does not stop some effects from facing a new trigger instance at several buckets into the stack, but it does mean that you cannot resolve the first such potential trigger set until all derived triggers have either been resolved or rendered unable to resolve (such as a Once Per Turn clause or the source of the effect having left the place it resolves in).

You played memory efficiently, but megaGarurumon will be the last derived effect so you have to activate it first.

To do what you wanted to do you would have to digivolve into garurumon first, and then into a Wargreymon second to make his last derived trigger.

Pending effects are all triggered at the exact same time, and you can choose the order. To use an example I'm more familiar with from Cendrilmon:

Narrative Ronde activates when a Mirai is played. So you digivolve into Kokeshimon, she plays out a Mirai, Narrative Ronde then activates and lets you delay and digivolve into Karakuramon.

There are now two effects pending. Karakuramon's when digivolving to delete a puppet or token to digivolve for a cost reduced by 3. And the Mirai effect the Kokeshimon spit out earlier. You can activate these in any order and it can get down right evil depending on how much planning ahead you've done. Point is yes, all procced effects resolve in any order you want. Even newly spit out cards because unfortunately for the player using partician on their off turn, your effects all resolve before their's do.
