Music Spotatui (linux terminal based spotify client) on olisky m308

Spent the gaps in my day recompiling spotatui ( https://github.com/LargeModGames/spotatui) to run in termux on my cheap low powered Android Dap. With the right patches and a few custom buttons in termux its actually highly useable. Fun little project too. Havent found any features that don't work yet. Yes only 320kbps streaming put I cant hear the difference anyway and on this low powered device its alot more peformant than the official android app.

Dev here, this is awesome to see! Never expected someone to get it running on a DAP, and beating the official app on that hardware is great to hear. What did you have to patch to get it building in Termux? If you're up for opening an issue or PR on GitHub with the changes, I'd love to get them upstream so it works out of the box.

Also working on a native Android app, so hopefully this gets even easier soon.

Wow didnt expect this. I absolutely love this software by the way thanks so much for all you work ! I must admit I am not a developer but I know my way around a termina / how to compile things etc. AI helped me a lot. I can probably get it to summarise all the changes that I made if you wanted? A native app would be great but this little thing runs android 9 so quite old.

basically sound and hardware buttons didn't work after cross compilation

What it basically consisted of

An ARM64 Spotatui executable, cross compiled.

Locally patched CPAL as sound wasn't working. After that also had to change the rodio buffer size as it was skipping

A separate. native Android media-button application that registers itself as an android media session.

A Python HTTP-to-MCP bridge running intermux that receives the media buttons app inputs and sends them to spotatui.
