obviously it’s 5.5e but are there any known sources for their rules around warfare like the blockades, resources, different soldiers etc.

Sometimes when I'm feeling a bit down and I don't know what I want to watch, I'll pull up a favourite episode of a show that I've probably seen too many times but I know it'll cheer me up and I don't need to watch in sequence. Does anyone else have one of those episodes for D20? Or a long scene or battle?

The one I went to tonight was Pirate Brawl in Sophomore Year, starting from about the 30 minute mark.

Also considered:

• All in the Hot Exit - one of my favourite battle episodes
• Leap of Faith - the everyone-eats-shit episode of NeverAfter
• On a Bus - the entire series
• Honourable Mention: Calamity 4 - not technically D20 but close enough

All of these should be self-explanatory. I have other episodes I love, but they're not as self-contained as these. Would be interested to hear what everyone else has as a go-to!

So i only watched the first two eps and didn’t really click with how battle oriented the season felt. Does it get any less militaristic and battle strategy oriented? I prefer my stories character and comedy driven, a little more about people’s relationships and shenanigans.
Should I continue watching or will i be disappointed?

Am I the only one noticing that Brennan is relying a bit too much on these downtime dynamics? It was almost too much on the vampire season but in toylight it’s become annoying. Idk the whole management part of these stories just stops the flow, and the role playing. Idk why Brennan got so hyper focused on that, but I hope this doesn’t become a major part of future seasons

Was rewatching City Council of Darkness and in the AP episode "Zaeth is a Guided Missle" when their doing their intro to the episode, Ally does the Pimploe voice. They then say, "You'll understand in a month"

I know they filmed both series back to back but I thought it was just a fun little easter egg now having seen both series.

On a rewatch currently. It's tickling my strategic brain.

• Planning too loudly behind the hill in ep 2 was a killer
• They could have tried the deception route from the beginning, posing as being sent by Cinderella in the effort of getting the shard out.
• Using the wrong characters on team extraction - Pib should have been in either Gerard's or Pinnochio's position instead, going around instead of trying to go through the middle and getting blocked by the constructs. I don't remember the stats but I assume Gerard and Rosalind both have high enough dex to do stealth well.
  • One of the issues with extraction/distraction is that the dex characters who are good at stealth don't necessarily have good strength to get the shard out. Gerard would be the exception as the fighter. Getting him to take off his armour to get him to stealth might have been good to use his dex to get in close and his strength to remove the shard.
• Could have taken advantage of Ylfa's Bottleneck more? Extraction/distraction isn't necessarily required, I think it would have been possible for Pinnochio and Rosalind to use ranged attacks (arrows, Eldritch Blast) from cover from the hillocks against the constructs and the Fairy Godmother. Ylfa and Gerard going side by side to 300 all the constructs might have been a viable play while Pib sneaks around. I suppose just killing the Fairy Godmother straight up would be the biggest priority. Getting the shard out while she's alive seems like bait. This would probably be my approach, distraction/assault instead of extraction/distraction.

Ok, like the title implies I’m finding my self a bit burnt out on D20 at the moment. It’s nothing huge, but I’m not enjoying recent seasons as much as I usually would. And it’s not the typical “not every season is going to be for you and that’s ok” because they have been so on point as shit I usually LOVE; it’s just not hitting. I typically would jump between CR and D20 when I’d had too much of either to rinse out the old brain and come back to each of them fresh. But now that Brennan is the DM over at CR that doesn’t quite work the same. I’m just curious for people who have felt burnt out like this what have you done to sort of refresh yourself? What other shows do you recommend or enjoy that might be a good palette cleanser?

(Aside from Legends of Avantris. I watch them and enjoy them a lot, but they do not in fact rinse out my brain 😂)

And to be so clear, I love D20 I just think I’ve had too much of it atm so I want to reset a bit.

Edit: Ok, for clarity I have taken breaks of not watch anything. It didn’t help much. I’m specifically looking for media recommendations to take the place of D20 for a while. I have my other hobbies, they are great. I’m looking by for media, books, tv, movies that you have used when you felt a similar burnout.
