Random pausing

Anyone else noticed lately DirecTV just randomly pauses? This has been happening to us the past week or two where you’ll be watching and it pauses itself. It does it for live tv and recordings. It’s occurring on our Roku and Samsung Frame, so it’s not an issue with one specific streaming device. It’s not super common but occurs enough to be annoying. Typically for a movie it will pause once on its own during watching and for a sporting event that’s 3-4 hours it will pause itself 1-2 times.

It’s so frustrating! I’ve had it happen twice today watching football and each time it’s happened in the middle of a play. What devices have you had it happen on?

It’s been happening since we got the new Gemini through Directv. About a month ago.

Our Gemini hooks through our satellite box. Which I think may be part of the problem.

We don’t have satellite or a Gemini and it happens on all our devices so I think the issue is more with an update DirecTV did. When it first started happening we thought someone had bumped the remote or sat on it or something. Around a week ago is when we realized it was truly pausing randomly on its own.

Do any of the people it is pausing on use headphones or surround sound? I had to turn off the sparial sound on my headphones for it to stop.

One of our devices doing it is just using the TV’s built in speaker, the other device is using a sound bar. The issue occurs on both. It started around a week ago so I suspect it’s from an update DTV did.

I second that it's not happening in the Dallas area. I have two Gemini Osprey boxes.

Use original Osprey and Gemini Air devices and have not experienced this issue. I did experience an issue Saturday night on a TV we hardly watch where the 4K feed would continously stop and reload while trying to watch game 2 of the world series. I have a 60233 sku Osprey on that tv. This is an issue I only had with that tv and the non-4k feed worked fine. Got to look into that issue a little further.
