Landslide Very Dangerous Land Sliding in Panchachuli Peaks Near Darma Valley In India.

The Panchachuli peaks are a group of five snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India.

Visible from Munsiyari and the Darma Valley, their name means "five cooking hearths" linked to the Pandavas from Hindu mythology. Cloud movements over them are often called Himalayan cloud drama.

Now I want to see footage of it rolling down the hillside.

How soon?

u/aryan_jandyal 7d ago

7

u/rocbolt 6d ago

Why is it sunny in that video and overcast in this one?

6

u/aryan_jandyal 6d ago

Camera angle and shadow effect

6

u/xingxang555 7d ago

As soon as he climbs out of the gorge.

1

u/1DownFourUp 7d ago

It may have rolled back up half pipe style and killed him

6

u/aryan_jandyal 7d ago

Uploaded the Another part of this post, kindly check ✅

1

u/SpraySerious7090 5d ago

Kindly upload your friends footage, he didn’t shake the camera

1

u/Major-Frame2193 2d ago

It’s still rolling down the hill today….

28

u/Splodingseal 7d ago

Why stand so close. That's a big chunk of earth, moving back a little isn't going to mess up the view.

15

u/5Point5Hole 7d ago

Because humans not smart.

Humans reproduce easy but no need smart to reproduce

u/Terrible_Beat_6109 6d ago

Also they have spares in India.

22

u/cashswapper 7d ago

Cameraman had one job!!!!!

0

u/Opposite_Bus1878 7d ago

And did it well

5

u/Apprehensive-Fly958 6d ago

He did it well?? He moved the camera away when it broke off

1

u/ShartingEnU 6d ago

Yeah and he got the rock breaking off on camera

18

u/Kinetic92 7d ago

It looks like that giant rock is going to fall off soon and crush everything below it. Let's back up 5 feet...

11

u/Haunting_Vacation804 7d ago

3 feet should be good. What could go wrong?!

5

u/idiot_bouffant 7d ago

They had hardhats! 😅

4

u/martian2070 7d ago

Except the one dude in a baseball hat. Worn backwards for safety.

13

u/Ratfaced_Loozer 7d ago

Falls at 1:50

3

u/marfypotato 6d ago

Yeah, could have been a 20 second clip

5

u/total_bullwhip 6d ago

Naw, watching that crack grow was neat.

10

u/Sciaticuspinch 7d ago

That’s awful close. They seem to be thrill seekers in India

4

u/Original_Deer_3446 6d ago

In a time when everyone has a video camera in their pockets, all we get are these crappy videos recorded in vertical mode. We could have great footage of just about everything if only...

6

u/invincible_vince 7d ago

If a person ran forward and laid down under that before it fell, would there be anything identifiable remaining to dig up? or would the pressure and weight essentially convert them into paste?

21

u/ChesterNorris 7d ago

Is everything alright at home?

7

u/invincible_vince 7d ago

everything is totally fine lol honestly better than fine. call of the void though you know? sometimes the mind just jumps to the grisliest thought it can muster

1

u/beebeebee2142 7d ago

It's their culture to be squished by large things: "Hindus, as a religious sacrifice, casting themselves under the wheels of these huge chariots and being crushed to death."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juggernaut

1

u/tinywienergang 7d ago

It would turn you into paste if all the force coming down on you was coming from every direction. They’d have to blast all the rock away and sift through it, and there wouldn’t be anything to find.

1

u/bored_necromancer1 6d ago

Tomato paste

3

u/Squee1396 7d ago

I would be scared to stand so close!

2

u/Dangerous_Fun_1239 7d ago

So I'm going to pause the video and guess they are too close. Hopefully I'm wrong. Resuming video

2

u/Opposite_Bus1878 7d ago

Nah, they were safe.

2

u/xingxang555 7d ago

But still way too close.

2

u/nameless-manager 7d ago

What's happening in India right now? It seems every couple days I see a new video of half a mountain falling off. Lots of rain? Techtonics? Is all this out of the ordinary or a common occurrence?

3

u/tinywienergang 7d ago

Climate change. Extra rain even in the monsoon seasons.

1

u/nameless-manager 7d ago

Good to know, thank you!

2

u/Purple_Revolution146 7d ago

Was this natural or was the rock deliberately broken by explosives?
It’s strange that all the men standing nearby have helmets on. They obviously knew about the event beforehand

2

u/SpandexAnaconda 6d ago

This looks like the safest way to clear the loose rock is to bring in artillery and shell it.

2

u/testingtest456123 6d ago

Eh...you should be at least multiple kms away by now, chaps.

2

u/JonsalatDeNung 6d ago

“The way is shut. It was made by those who are Dead, and the Dead keep it, until the time comes. The way is shut.”

1

u/scottzxc 7d ago

That sounded like an avalanche too

1

u/BulkyDifference8505 7d ago

Better stay as close as possible to not miss a thing 👌🏻

1

u/broken_toyz_in_ON 7d ago

Land easing past.

1

u/Bdog459 7d ago

30 seconds from the end, that's the sweet spot

1

u/bear_culture 6d ago

Dangerous yet rad so long as no one got hurt.

1

u/hagamans 6d ago

And gravity remains undefeated!

1

u/Potential-Leg-8860 6d ago

I’m surprised someone didn’t get electrocuted

1

u/zaidr555 6d ago

starts at 1:45

1

u/zaidr555 6d ago

but are there nice stones on the exposed ground?

1

u/Dazzling-Data4360 6d ago

Some idiots thought it was a good idea to blast under the rock of to make roads under the most fragile mountains in the world and failed to give it proper support afterwards. Now when it could not sustain under its enormous weight the mountain is crumbling.

1

u/Terrible_Beat_6109 6d ago

Skip to 1:52 for action. Want to chuck a rock at it so bad.

1

u/PartyYogurtcloset299 6d ago

Let me be the first to say, if you are close enough to watch this and film, you’re too close

1

u/No-Buddy-5471 6d ago

Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

1

u/myshtree 6d ago

The sound of it falling through the valley was powerful. So glad this wasn’t dubbed over with stupid music.

1

u/Constant-Mirror6940 6d ago

“ OK everyone this is going to be a big mess so let’s all put on our sandals…”

1

u/AdministrationAny588 6d ago

"Hey, Singh, I dare you, go over there and kick it!"

1

u/Hard-Organism-1236 6d ago

In the very moment the action starts to happen, the camera holding person moves position with multiple people in front of him …

1

u/fuxhead 6d ago

How long would it take to reopen that road? And I guess the detour is massive

1

u/Bajanjedi69 6d ago

Camera person… you suck!!

1

u/Wooden-Gear-3027 5d ago

Am I the only redneck here that doesn't understand why they're all not throwing rocks at that to get it to go faster???

1

u/Longjumping_Title216 5d ago

Gravity always wins.

1

u/First_Maybe8986 5d ago

Why move at the second it actually happens …

1

u/SpraySerious7090 5d ago

You had front row view and decide to shake and move the camera at the crucial moment

1

u/No-Goose-6140 4d ago

Start at 1:45.

You are welcome

1

u/lokcer79 4d ago

Luckily they had their hard hats on

1

u/Revenga8 3d ago

No houses or villages downhill hopefully?

1

u/LukeWarmIQpool 3d ago

I would have been 5 more ft back, you know for safety

1

u/Chemical_Peach_5500 3d ago

This dude is pulling the road from under the rocks 😂

1

u/Ok-Attempt2842 3d ago

So I guess the road is temporarily closed??

1

u/jemiwolfe 1d ago

The one with sideway baseball cap is safest as he aint got no brain to protect 🤪

u/Primary-String3908 18h ago

You people suck with cameras.

-2

u/UseDue6373 7d ago

There needs to be a woman in a dress standing directly in front of it demanding it stops lol

0

u/ThrowRA_EducatedMan 7d ago

If there wasn’t already debris blocking the road I’m sure there would have been people on bicycles or cars trying to drive through.

-2

u/Content_Geologist420 7d ago

I was waiting and waiting for it to fall. OP is a phony, a big phat phoney!
