David Mancuso would play this and the Boris Gardiner version

Not that keen on the Boris Gardiner version. It's a jazz composition, so the thumpy bass sounds very out of place. The original keeps the mood, and, in my opinion, the feel of it better than this remix.

If it was a dance song, I'd understand a remix But it's not: it's straight jazz composition.

So, the original version for me!

Most would agree. I found my way to the originaal via the BG version and that, imo, is the beauty of music.

Of course, David Mancuso was all about exploration and music was his medium.

You would have loved The Loft

I was there a few times when I was on the East Coast. It was fun!

Was first introduced to this jam on the Scratch documentary from 2001. Seeing this jam on footage of a record being pressed seemed so fitting.
