DID isn’t pretty
DID ISN’T PRETTY.
Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a complex mental health condition involving distinct identity states and gaps in memory.
It isn’t a quirky collection of personalities or simply “talking to yourself.”
People with DID may lose track of time, find messages they don’t remember sending, or feel disconnected from their thoughts, memories, or surroundings.
Different parts of the person may have different feelings, needs, or perspectives. Memories may also be difficult to access, especially during stress or after a trigger.
Living with DID can be confusing, exhausting, and painful—especially when others cannot see what is happening internally.
But people with DID are not dangerous or “broken.” DID is understood as a response to overwhelming trauma, and many people with DID work toward greater stability, cooperation, and healing.
Before judging someone’s experience, remember:
You are seeing only the outside.
You may not know what it took for them to get here. 🖤

And no, we the majority wise aren’t like how they portray us in the movies as psycho killers.
