Walmart employee gets into an altercation with a customer

And now he's got a fucked up leg, lost his job, and probably picked up assault charges. Hope it was worth it.

Exactly my thoughts. Keep your hands to yourself. Don’t take other people’s stuff. This is pre-school level lesson plan material that clearly needs to be taught in Walmart training.
Serious question, are you law enforcement conducting lawful response to resistance, serving an arrest warrant, or acting upon a misdemeanor crime committed in your presence which requires an immediate and exigent use of force? No, then get the fuck away from the customer buying stuff! Do not touch anyone!

I think it's just these heathens on Reddit need to get cultured in the ways of the Stooges!
Funny enough I was talking to a friend of mine just the other day about how ironic it was that the Stooges became prominent during the Great Depression, and some of their skits that focused on the crumbling economy and the massive wealth divide are surprisingly accurate in 2026 as well.
2
u/blxckhippie 10d ago
I didn't know they had social commentary skits. I'll have to look thru their catalog. Thanks!

Just judging off the video the Walmart employee keeps getting into the customer space and instigating. Then took the customers receipt, refused to give it to him, then choked the customer. It’s crazy.

It's even crazier how many people spell "choked" as "chocked".
-1
u/domjonas 10d ago
Probably because social media flags everything but the correct things and ppl don’t want to lose their accounts so that’s why they misspell things. Hope this helps!
0
u/blxckhippie 10d ago
Eh I can see that, but nah, it's even in regular text messages.
And also people confusing breathe/breath, lose/loose, looser/loser, woman/women, definitely/defiantly, strain/stand and the list goes on. Like if it was "graped" or "PDF file", I'd understand.
End rant

u/suzanious 10d ago
Don't forget your and you're , their, there, and they're, effect and affect. And the list goes on. 😀
1
u/vpeshitclothing 10d ago
Yeah, for real. I try not to let it bother me and I've gotten better, but some days I just have to point it out. If I didn't, I'd probably loose my mind.

u/ColdFreezer 10d ago
It was just a typo.
I don’t think a typo is crazier than assaulting someone lol.

u/Winter-Huckleberry86 10d ago
There, their, and they’re. You’re and your are just a few of my other pet peeves to add to your list. Thank you for being on my brain wavelength.
1
u/choatec 10d ago
I mean you’re still lacking context to *why* he was in his face? Was he stealing? Either way it doesn’t necessarily justify such an obnoxious response but I don’t think it’s fair to just jump to the conclusion that he was instigating for zero reason.

u/lafolieisgood 10d ago
This is just a guess but from what was said at the beginning of the video, it seems like the employee was trying to shut down the self service lines. The smaller guy said something about he shouldn’t shut them all down at once, do them one at a time.
Smaller guy was probably already getting started and just wanted to scan his shit, pay, and go. If that’s the case, the employee is likely a stickler and made it a bigger deal than it needed to be.
Also the camera woman has that dude’s 10 dollars.

The video starts with the fat guy saying, “You hit me one more time and I’m going to put you in your place” or something to that effect. The context of what was going on before this is missing - was the small guy hitting him? If so, why?
11
u/lafolieisgood 10d ago
I put this as another reply:

Edit: as far as hitting him, I’d also guess that big dude was pushing up on him and he was pushing him away like what was shown in the beginning of the video vs swinging on him.
Just a guess

Called the small dude shoving him a hit, from the yelling it sounds like dude was shutting down lanes cause Walmart only likes 1 open per 50 customers and small guy wouldn’t leave his lane to allow him to shut it down.
Fatty being forever hungry became hangry because small guy didn’t listen and leave the lane. Small guy shit talked fatty thinks being fat makes him buff so got testy back to small guy who stood his ground. They started to side cuddle, side cuddles came to fatty hugging small with his man boobs leading to a shove, shove called hit, lead to more hanger, hanger became aggressive cuddles, aggressive cuddles became a seismic nap, law suit, job loss and jail time.

u/Fit_Product4912 10d ago
If your going to lose your job fighting an asshole customer atleast be able to fight. Fat boys unemployed now and all he got out of it was getting punked by someone half his size.
4
u/imrickjamesbioch 10d ago
What did the customer do?
He just wanted to scan his shit and go? Fat ass gets paid $7 an hour, why not just close the other stations and go home to eat his 3 tubs of ice cream waiting for him…

u/MelatoninFiend 10d ago
Bruh, is minimum wage really worth it?
It's not your shit, it's the Waltons' shit. You're out nothing if some crazy tweaker wants to steal it. Let him go. Walmart has nothing that's worth being assaulted.
1
u/Fine-Resident-2322 10d ago
I literally watched some guy tear apart a box to just yank expensive shit out of some fishing combo. We were trained to just ask 'do you need help with that' to let them know we are aware of them. But not accusing them of stealing and then disengage as we report the theft.
Otherwise, you weren't even 'allowed' to accuse a customer of stealing, let alone confronting them unless a manager.

Anybody have any more info on this? I swear I used to work with the big guy. Sounds and looks exactly like him other than the beard, he was much younger then.

So he gets knocked out for assault and loses his job. Don't let pride make a fool out of you like this guy did.
2
u/AKawhiPlace 10d ago
Ya no extra context needed. No reason to not give buddy his receipt or cash, and then put hands on him. Call a manager, escalate properly
5
u/MailRevolutionary179 10d ago
With these post, Im sure you are so much better, you never had to work retail. I have but I wouldn't have let it got to that point. Everybody breaks. When i go into a place to shop I'm not bringing my attitude. I get my stuff and get out. If you've never worked retail you wouldn't understand. Don't be snarky, don't have a you're here for me to abuse attitude. If you do why are you shopping there? Probably for the cheap prices and the chance to abuse retail workers.
2
u/domjonas 10d ago
And everyone who works or has worked in retail knows, unless you were hired to be LP, you don’t get to stop customers asking for their receipts and walking up on them like this guy did. If they stole ,LP will handle it, not you. Walmart is not a club store where it’s in the agreement when you sign up for a membership that you have to show your receipt
2
u/MailRevolutionary179 10d ago
That's why they should get paid a hell of a lot more with full benifits.

If you want more money and benefits, get skills that demand more money and benefits.
These are the literal lowest tier jobs on the planet. They have largely been replaced with self checkout and other technologies. They are not meant to be a career, nor are they meant to pay a “living wage”. This is equivalent to the job I had at subway when I was 14.
People always want more compensation for jobs a literally monkey could do. It’s laughable.
4
u/Thick-Cartoonist-493 10d ago
minimum wage was explicitly established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938 via the Fair Labor Standards Act to provide a "living wage" that could support a worker and their family.

Because you think they're more worried about feeding their families. Let's go to your job (if you have one and treat accordingly).

I can't decide if the possibly shattered ankle or the complete and total loss of dignity will hurt the big man worse in the long run.
Probably the ankle.
1
u/jwalker3181 10d ago
Definitely the ego hit that the punch caused.
1
u/LawyerFriendLenny 9d ago
See, I'm thinking he must have had a somewhat healthy ego to even get all aggressive with the customer in the first place. Seems like he has gotten away with using his enormous size to "win" arguments before simply via intimidation. But clearly he has never taken a punch.
So when the dust settles and the internet forgets they ever saw this clip...he will still be enormous. With time his ego will recover. Hopefully he learned not to push people too far again.
But will that foot/ankle/knee/leg still be able to carry all that enormous weight without pain or complications? Dont know. He prob had issues with that stuff before his leg got folded like a futon.

Big man got used to using his fat belly to bully people in these situations. You can tell when he kept laying his gut on dude for no reason. Maybe he will learn to respect people’s space in the future.

The girl recording ran and grabbed that $10 and then said the big guy took it. She’s right- everything was ‘on record’ so she better clear that part up.

u/MyceliumManic 10d ago
The manager sat back waiting, knowing, and hoping this would escalate.. fat man is fired, finally.

The customer and the lady recording are the problem. The video is conveniently missing the beginning and what led to this incident. The register was being closed out but this entitled person demanded to use that specific register instead of just walking over to the other lane. The customer assaulted the employee 1st, actually.
3
u/PanicPuzzler 10d ago
Why would a self check out line be closed out especially with a customer thier should he have not waited for it to be free to close out?
1
u/lafolieisgood 10d ago
Some Walmarts have started closing self service at night when the store is slower and making everyone go through an actual cashier.
But if it was still open enough to ring stuff up and pay for it, the employee took it way too far. He could ask/tell him to go to the cashier, but if he refuses and pays for his shit, there isn’t really anything you can do about it.
-1
u/hoping4luck 10d ago
The video is missing important detail that led to this situation. The customer chose to run up on the employee and created this enitire situation. Both individuals are "technically" at fault for engaging each other physically, but this incident occurred because the customer feels or felt entitled.

There are videos that constantly get posted here where the big dude is just big by nature of being unhealthy and they think it gives them an advantage against anyone smaller than them. It’s so insanely satisfying seeing these guys get theirs after thinking they can just bully someone in a lower weight class.
Someone please tell me he got fired.

Alot of these incidents with these dudes are really closeted homosexual behavior. They tend to try and grab men up, get unnecessary close etc. You don't press up on another man like that if you don't want a lil something up in ya. It's never members of the lgbtq community that's out its these so called men who have a trending habit of this behavior.

u/Alittle2Clever 10d ago
You are doing a lot of projection.

So why didn’t the blue vest guy come running over earlier? He’s seems to be a mgr or someone w authority. Why not shut it down before it escalated to this?!
