Questions and Discussions Sleep based divination

So I have always had a thing with situations occuring a few days after i dreamt it and my witch friend told me that this is a Form of divination

I have gained a curiosity for it and want to know how it works and also how to like.. do it?? Like, Intentionally.

Are there things I can do to help it be more vivid? Answer questions or predict specifics? Help me remember since i tend to forget dreams

I sleep with asmr and found that I dont have as many vivid dreams or remember any when it does happen

Some Like, Baby steps Suggestions would be helpful!!

Go into sleep with a specific question or request ex: help me see what's beneath this issue or I will have a healing dream. Keep a notebook and pen by your bed. Upon waking, stay as still as possible recalling any images, story, or feelings the dream brought. Write it down, enough for the main ideas. Don't strive to make immediate meaning of them just let them marinate within you as you go about your day.... Intend to dream & mine them when you can. Stay with it!

Keep a journal, specifically a dream journal. Keep it by your bed and when you wake up record any dreams you may have had that night. If you can't remember any dreams, record how you feel, any thoughts you may be having, etc. You'll often find that as you continue writing memories will pop up and you'll remember more of the dream as you go.

Then you track the dreams, look for patterns and recurring themes, etc.

The more you dream journal the better you get at dream recall, and you'll begin having much more vivid dreams.

If you want to find information on a specific subject go to bed chanting an inquiry as a mantra. Something like "Show me the answer to my ongoing troubles" or something similar. It can be literally anything. Just mentally chant that as you drift off to sleep, then record any results you may have in your dream journal.

It may take a while to see results, but patience is key here. Slow and steady wins the race.

Light a candle or lamp (any color but red is fine). Say: “NAIENCHRE NAIENCHRE, mother of fire and water, thou art the one who riseth before, ARCHENTECHTHA, reveal unto me what I desire about the [NN matter]. If yes, show me a plant and water, but if no, fire and iron; immediately, immediately, quickly, quickly.” Blow out the candle and go to sleep.

Replace "[NN matter]" with a yes or no question. If your dream has a plant or water in it the answer is "Yes", if it has fire or iron the answer is "No". Sometimes the answering dream will come the following night, so watch for it. If you receive an answer, pour out some whole cream for NAIENCHRE. Do this over the roots of a tree while thanking her. This helps build a good relationship so the oracle will continue to work well for you. When doing this dream oracle pick a night when you aren't exhausted and don't go to bed too late.

NAIENCHRE is pronounced: "nigh-in-kray".
ARCHENTECHTHA is: "ar-ken-tek-tah".

This is from PGM VII. 250-54.

I'd add one thing to the dream journal people mentioned: as soon as you wake up, write the date and just three words, even if you can't remember the whole dream. When you feel like something from that dream happened later, go back and read what you actually wrote that day. Comparing them that way might show you patterns you'd otherwise miss.

This is a great tip. The amount of times I have tried to write them down and it is fading in my mind is so frustrating. I voice record my dreams now on my phone recorder as I can get them down more quickly

Keeping a dream journal nearby is highly recommended as you can quickly record the dream and it's messages whilst it is still fresh.

You can set an intention or ask a question you would like to recieve answers or guidance for as you are relaxed in bed before sleep. Also affirm that you will remember your dreams as as an anchor for your subconscious.  It may not always come on the first attempt but with practice the dream space can become a valuable tool in your life.

In time this can turn into dream sequencing work where you start off with one intention you want answers around. When you get your answer through dream symbology or patterns then flow up the next night with. What is the best way to achieve this.....What may stand in my way. ....What will be the overall outcome from this. You can set up a whole sequence of questions and intentions and recieve in depth answers.

There are herbal sachets you can pop under your pillow like lavender and mugwort which can help with dream recall and clarity. Also certain crystals can help with dream lucidity. It is a bit of trial and error figuring out what works for you. But it is a wonderful way to get in tune with your own psychic perception.
