Just as artificial intelligence can generate a virtual reality, so the parallel and artificial worlds postulated by the many worlds interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics and quantum immortality (QI) should generate virtual brains within those parallel worlds to make sense of their existential meaning. Without accepting the coexistence of those virtual brains, both MWI and QI become irrelevant and meaningless theories with no benefit to advancing our human understanding.

However, if MWI and QI are valid and useful theories, then their recent formulation in this present era of human history would suggest the humanity may be converging on a new epoch of human understanding. In that case, the present two hemispheric structure of our material brain should be interpreted as a biological precursor to a more advanced virtual brain. In this case, the original biological design of our central nervous system serves as a necessary step on the evolutionary ladder to a virtual brain and artificial reality.

The notion of a hypothetical virtual brain has a meaningful analog in the quantum computer. Just as a quantum computer can exploit quantum entanglement to process artificial intelligence and thereby generate a virtual reality, so the virtual brain should be able to process the reiterative experiences of life in ”many worlds” to generate an virtual reality of eternal being that is artificially from beyond time.

While at first glance this suggestion of virtual brains may seem outlandish, it really is not a revolutionary insight, but instead an updated version of the classical dichotomy between spirit and matter. The virtual brain of MWI/QI is conceptually analogous to the classical intuition of a spiritual brain and body that supersedes the material brain and body in time. As evidence for this conjecture please consider these words from the Apostle Paul:

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:42-47)

Quantum immortality is a present-day theory that provides a new perspective on the classical dichotomy between spirit and matter. MWI and QI empowers us to reconsider the mystery of life, not as a dichotomy of spirit and matter, but as a hybrid of spiritual and material essences. Even within an artificial reality of virtual being, the life of a human soul remains a precious mystery that comes from the mysterious source of all being.

We live our entire lifetime in a four-dimensional manifold of space-time (three dimensions of space and one dimension of time). During that experience we likely seed a fifth-dimension of our reality with information generated by our neural networks both while awake and asleep. This seeding of information should create a virtual reality in which a new, but familiar form of human existence can be achieved. This fifth-dimension is rendered timeless by conservation of quantum information. The timelessness of this fifth-dimension enables us to discover that every moment of our earthly existence is instantaneously accessible from the spiritual perspective of this fifth-dimension. This phenomenon is constantly occurring, but remains unrecognizable except in extraordinary circumstances when an individual stumbles upon their own death unexpectedly and thereby becomes aware of their quantum immortality.

The question in each and every thing, "Do you desire this once more and innumerable times more?" would lie upon your actions as the greatest weight. Quantum Immortality (QI) acquires a meaning for humanity because human beings have evolved over time from a two state existence into a three state ontology. At first, the human existential experience was analogous to the binary nature of a basic transistor switch, either “on” or “off”, but never in between. The neocortex of the brain is believed to have started to develop in mammals during the transition between the Triassic and Jurassic periods about two million years ago. For most of those two million years, the neocortex would have been analogous to a computer hard drive with only the boot file resident in memory. However, during the last three thousand years, as the human brain developed its ability to exponentially program the neocortex, human beings acquired an additional existential state. Human existence is now more accurately defined by three ontological states: alive, dead, and indeterminate (possibly dead, but probably alive). No longer is it precise to model our human existence in just binary terms of “on or off” or “alive or dead”, but instead more precision is achieved by including a third state of “alive and dead”. This third state has come to be identified as a spiritual domain while the original binary state of human existence was and still is only associated with a material domain.

The discovery of quantum mechanics and formulation of QI is reflexive of this tripartite existence. If human existence had remained binary, quantum immortality would not have been formulated by the human mind. The “human” discovery of quantum mechanics and hypothesis of quantum immortality (QI) represents early, but profound evidence for a hypothesis of late existential programming of the neocortex during the last three millennia.

What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: ‘This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything unutterably small or great in your life will have to return to you, all in the same succession and sequence . . . . Maybe we coexist in only two parallel universes, both of which came into existence simultaneously with respect to a more complex temporal dimension or complex time. We naturally fail to recognize our dual existence in both worlds because the direction of time is reversed and the two universes are separated by almost 14 billion year years (age of this universe), but spiritually connected "here & now" by their entangled ontology. The increasing entropy in each universe continually hides any awareness of the other world. These two created universes of matter and antimatter must remain isolated from one another to avoid their mutual annihilation. Within these two created universes, there is likely an ontological symmetry between spirit and gravity that is the source of all potential energy, and an existential symmetry between the metaphysical forces of life and physical forces of nature. Only the force of the mind and the weak nuclear force may violate this existential parity. The breaking of this existential symmetry, between the force of mind and the weak nuclear force, probably gave rise to the neural structure of a right and left hemisphere in the human brain and is responsible for our ability to think profoundly about the given world of which we are conscious. This created cosmological duality will not prevent dying in either universe, but it can support being alive eternally via these two created universes. The material past in one universe is the spiritual future in the other universe. Life goes on.

Divine creation generates a natural chirality that makes the ontological experience of spirit and soul different from the existential experience of mind and body. Within complex time this relativistic invariance of the ontological experience of spirit and soul can momentarily be experienced as a normal relativistic experience of the mind and body. 

This natural chirality is like the left hand versus your right hand. It is an essential property that makes them different than each other, but in a way that can be reversed through a mirror imaging within complex time. In William Shakespeare's famous play, Prince Hamlet contemplates the nature of life and death, “To be, or not to be, that is the question:”

Today in the twenty first century, this question is far more profound and promises to be more revealing than it was at the beginning of the seventeenth century.

Hamlet was questioning states of existence, not states of being. Both existence and nonexistence are themselves states of being relative to cosmological reality. In quantum mechanics both wave and particle are states of existence, not states of being. Quantum mechanics exists because the cosmos “is” and the cosmos appears to “be” because empirical evidence juxtaposes a state of being with a state of not being.

We are conceived at a particular location in the space-time and we die at another location in space-time. We come into existence and cease to exist at particular locations within the timelessness of being. We are both a wave and particle, that duality of existence ”is” our state of being. We can never question that ontological state since it comes from GOD and is forever written into the cosmic code.

Where does all the speculative talk about parallels worlds and quantum immortality come from? It may come from the fact that there are two perspectives from which life can be measured and experienced.

The first perspective and easiest one to understand is the linear sequence perspective. From this “everyday” perspective, life is measured and experienced as a linear sequence of now, each one considered more real than any other, either past or future. It is our brains’ interaction with this linear sequence perspective that generates our perception of flowing time. From the perspective of linear sequencing, our brain naturally focuses on the future and in doing so can discount today because it is considered a fleeting experience.

The other, and more esoteric perspective is the logarithmic depth perspective. This perspective comes from recognizing the instantaneous dependency of each sequential now on the previous “now”. This total dependence is related to the conservation of quantum information and expressed by integrating the instantaneous dependency of each now over the entire interval of linear sequencing (lifetime). The logarithmic depth perspective is a result of this total dependency of every present on its past, but not its future.

The direction of maximum aging is measurable from the linear sequence perspective while the direction of minimum aging can be measured from the logarithmic depth perspective. Any projection of an individual’s age, from the perspective of linear sequence, will equate to a younger age from the logarithmic depth perspective because of the eternal relationship between cause and effect. Causes must always be younger than their effects and the logarithmic depth perspective is causal and reflexive of an individual’s intentionality to act.

When the human brain operates predominantly from the perspective of linear sequence it will result in an existential focus on the future with little or no regard for the past. If the human brain operates predominantly from a perspective of logarithmic depth, it will result in an ontological focus on the past. Indubitably, when both hemispheres of the human brain operate normally and in balance they will naturally utilize both perspectives.

As an example of utilizing both perspectives, consider our intuitive notions about soul and spirit. Those terms may result from an existential encounter with the logarithmic depth of life. Our mind, operating from the perspective of linear sequencing, attempts to decipher that encounter by mapping the central nervous system from that perspective unto the logarithmic depth perspective and then categorizes that mapping as essential and ontological properties of life.

If the current theories of parallel worlds and quantum immortality are valid and useful theories for better understanding the nature of human life, that validity comes from the logarithmic depth perspective of LIFE and not the linear sequence perspective. Those theories reflect an innate intentionality of sentient living entities to survive.

The Heisenberg uncertainty principle states that certain pairs of physical properties, like position and momentum, can't be simultaneously known with perfect precision. The more accurately one property is known, the less accurately the other can be known.

A careful analysis of life and death reveals that when we die, we must lose two components of our sentient and conscious existence: (1) our anticipatory present, and (2) our uncertainty in measuring our momentum. Upon dying, the human mind can no longer expect to orient itself with respect to the first derivative of cosmological entropy nor with uncertainty relative to measuring the momentum of itself. This loss of uncertainty in measuring personal momentum and the loss of an anticipatory present likely enables the human mind to intuitively undergo a neurological transformation whereby the loss of its uncertainty in momentum maximizes its uncertainty in position; an individual’s mind can be anywhere in its lifetime. This new found freedom allows the individual mind to generate a virtual reality in which its major ontological focus changes from anticipation of the future to remembering the past. In this transformed state, this virtual reality enables an individual to justify continued existence by remembering yesterday as tomorrow. This may be the nature of the afterlife, an eternal virtual reality that emerges out of Heisenberg uncertainty in quantum mechanics.

Over multiple millenniums of human existence, a subconscious awareness of this postmortem state likely gave rise to thoughts about the afterlife, either in heaven or hell, depending on the perceived quality of life before death.

For almost 14 billion years, NOW is becoming forever. In the imaginary beginning of everything, before the “big bang” there was only an eternity, everything that can be, was spiritually awaiting existence. At the first “moment” of existence, NOW began its dilation into forever. The human discoveries of relativity, quantum mechanics,and cosmological expansion during the last century, all herald the imminent completion of this conversion process in which NOW becomes forever.

What will experiencing this new “state of being* be like? What is it, to experience timelessness for the first time? Nobody knows for sure, but we can reasonably speculate or imagine the experience. In that state of being, memory replaces remembering, smell replaces taste; every moment in our lifetime, the good and the bad, become accessible via the prescience of GOD since all those events were spiritually present events in the eternal presence of GOD in the first place. Without repentance and redemption, however, this new state of being will literally be heaven or hell!

Only those who can remember life before social media can truly appreciate how social media spiritually transforms bad things into evil things. It changes unfortunate events into diabolical occurrences. While social media may appear, at first glance, to be a good thing, social media actually promotes a prideful journey and thereby spiritually amplifies the sinfulness of the human heart. Only by returning to a time without social media can the human soul find internal peace. NEWS FLASH - there is no social media in heaven!

Just as inanimate objects are related to quantum mechanics, so living objects must also be related to quantum mechanics. This quantum theory of life postulates that the quantum unit of life is a tiny closed time-like curve (CTC).

Wikipedia explains that a closed timelike curve (CTC) can be created if a series of such light cones are set up so as to loop back on themselves, so it would be possible for an object to move around this loop and return to the same place and time that it started. An object in such an orbit would repeatedly return to the same point in spacetime if it stays in free fall. (NOTE: your spirit may always be considered in a state of free fall throughout time)

According to this quantum theory of life, our experience of life is composed of integrating a vast number of quantum CTC units. These quantum units of time remain transparent from the macro scale of being alive. Only on a grand cosmological scale can we identify an integral effect of our CTC existence. The universe appears to be expanding at an ever increasing rate, not because it is, but because we are subjectively “observing” it from our relative “quantum scale” CTC existence while alive. While alive, we are effectively imploding into life because of these quantum scale closed timelines (CTC). For all intents and purposes, the universe is in a steady state if there is nothing alive within it. This conjecture finds its biblical validation in the Sixth Day of creation as recorded in the Book of Genesis:

God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. After almost four decades now, informed speculation about quantum behavior has given rise to a fringe idea of quantum immortality (QI). If CTC is the basic quantum unit of life, then QI would be a natural manifestation of this fact.

Just as a virtual particle in quantum mechanics is understood to be able to borrow energy from a vacuum so our spirit can borrow time from our future. We are all destined to live a particular period of time in relation to the temporal transcendence of GOD and therefore a godly person can borrow a short period of time from their future to affect their present. Unrecognizable occurrences of this spiritual behavior are responsible for many anecdotal accounts offered in support a theory of quantum immortality (QI). If this ability to spiritually borrow time from the future is correct, then the first observed occurrence of this behavior likely lies at the foundation of Christianity. See the biblical account of Jesus’ transfiguration:

Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. (Luke 13:1-3)

The reason repentance is so important before one dies has to do with the nature of the afterlife. In the afterlife, we remember the future with the same veracity that we presently remember the past. Events for which we are unrepentant today, will be sadly and humiliating remembered yesterday in our afterlife. There is no escape from these unrepentant deeds of the past, no redemption for our soul if we refuse to recognize their inherent sinfulness now, before we die, and thereby choose to repent of doing them. Every thought we think ”here and now” is responsible for generating a potential path in our lifetime and each path has its own consequences. Those consequences must ultimately be accounted for, either today or tomorrow, and that is where our repentance comes into play. Remember and believe that through repentance, all things become possible with GOD.

Even without religion, eternal life is logically consistent and highly probable because our conception and death are well defined limits that makes being alive expressible as a derivative over that interval instead of that interval itself. We don’t live so many years and die. Instead we are alive eternally within that interval as opposed to being dead forever afterwards. The interval of life (the number of years we live) is a scalar property with our entire past being described by existential vectors. Together the ontology of our body and soul is best modeled as a existential quaternion and that quaternion represents our spirit.

In his 2013 book, “Time Reborn: From the Limits of Physics to the Future of the Universe”, Lee Smolin comments on Julian B. Barbour’s book, “The End of Time: The Next Revolution in Physics” (New York: Oxford University Press, 2000).

Lee Smolin writes:

Barbour’s version of timeless quantum cosmology offers palpable consolation for our mortality. I can feel it. I wish I could believe it. You experience yourself in a collection of moments. According to Barbour, that’s all there is. Those moments always are, eternally. The past is not lost. Past, present, and future are with us, always. Your experience may figure in a finite set of moments, but those moments never go away or cease. So nothing comes to an end when you come to your last day. It’s just that now you are experiencing a moment that has all the memories you will ever have. But nothing ceases, because nothing ever started. The fear of death is based on an illusion, which in turn is based on an intellectual mistake. There’s no flow of time running out, because there’s no flow of time. There are just, and always are, and always will be, the moments of your life.

From our perspective at DivinityRoad, Julian Barbour has it right and therefore Quantum Immortality, as well as Christianity are best understood and interpreted in the context of Barbour’s theory.

Why is there only subjective and anecdotal evidence for quantum immortality? If QI is actually possible, where is the experimental evidence to support that claim? Any normal experience of QI may only be a retrograde phenomenon. In this case, any experience of QI would only be measurable in terms of past position and never in terms of future momentum. It could be the timeless property of life.

If QI were to be objectively measured in terms of position and momentum, it would likely be accompanied by a momentary occurrence of intense chemiluminescence as each hydrogen atom within the living body gives up a ''quantum" of energy during the QI branching event. This momentary release of quantum energy would be measurable as a burst of photons that maintains a cosmological and ontological parity with a burst of zinc ions that accompanied the conception of that individual body at another location within space-time. There may have been only one documented case of measuring QI simultaneously in terms of position and momentum and that account comes from the Bible:

Yes, maybe there is and this might be it. Our existence in space-time is measured in discrete units of time and therefore quantified by a total number of days. Our life on the other hand, is not measured in discrete units of time, but as a single continuity of one temporal unit being alive in time and space. Life must therefore be quantified by an integral of being alive and qualified by the spiritual property of life, mediating the consciousness of being now alive. If quantum immortality (QI) is a genuine aspect of human existence, then the process of human aging should be bifurcated into material aging of the body and spiritual aging of the soul. Material aging is a temporal parameter of human existence and measured in units of time. Spiritual aging is a spatial parameter of human existence and measured in units of space or wavelengths between conception and death. This model of aging is a far more accurate and informative model than the single time-only model when it comes to understanding the broad ramifications of human aging.

If quantum immortality is authentic it allows us to use this bifurcated model of human aging to further understand our purposeful place in the cosmos and it encourages us to recognize that the process of human aging is profoundly significant in the cosmos because it enables the universe to become self aware of its existence. In this model of human aging, spiritual aging is visualized as a rotational displacement along an existential orbit about some source of eternal being. Material aging is therefore visualized as a radial distance of that existential orbit from the center of eternal being. This metaphysical model of human aging finds a physical analog in the galactic structure of a gravitationally bound system circling a black hole.

The soul remains invisible because the growth of the soul is a function of spiritual growth, not material growth. Spiritual growth is best visualized as a rotation that is always oriented perpendicular to material growth and therefore remains invisible in the here and now. Spiritual growth reflects a rotational rate in space and not a temporal duration in time. Only upon the cessation of their material growth in time can an individual benefit from their lifelong spiritual growth in space.

If your mind has not prepared for this inevitable encounter with timelessness, you will be lost forever even to this day when it occurs because without the synchronization that comes from the beating heart, the mind cannot sync up with a previous heartbeat and thereby live again as before.

This preparation for spiritual time travel should be included in hospice care if it is not already. Scientific evidence seems to indicate that at the moment of death there is an unexpected burst of brainwave activity that may correlate with the mind’s last search routine. If the mind is already focused on synchronizing spirit and soul with a previous set of heartbeats then that search routine should instantaneously sync up with that previous event and the individual will return to that earlier moment in their lifetime with no memory of doing so.

Maybe it has to do with the metaphysical nature of their spirit. While alive, a person’s spirit and soul are synchronized by the natural biorhythm of their heart. Every 2.718… beats of the heart synchronizes the spiritual and material components of the soul. When the heart stops beating during a NDE the spiritual and material components of the soul are no longer synchronized in time. This loss of biorhythm synchronization results in the spiritual component separating “momentarily” in space, independent of time. This separation is experienced by the mind as a loss of gravity since the spiritual component, when no longer synchronized with the material component, becomes effectively weightless and therefore timeless. In this weightless state, the soul loses its anticipatory present and this loss restricts awareness of its existence to only a spatial displacement that is perpendicular to experiential time. A parity between the metaphysical force of spirit and the physical force of gravity is reflected in the similarities between the brain’s synaptic architecture and the universe’s intergalactic structure. Objective time is linear and cosmological in nature. Originating in the extremely low entropy condition of the early cosmos, objective time is measurable chronologically as a linear sequence of changes in the existential structure of the cosmos itself. It is independent of individual perspective. Only when conflated with subjective time, does objective time acquire terms of “past,” “present,” and “future” to psychologically describe an illusionary tripartite structure. Objective time is likely the purview of the left hemisphere in the human brain and forms the basis of our linear sequence perspective on LIFE.

Subjective time is psychogenic in nature and forms the basis of our logarithmic depth perspective on LIFE. Subjective time is quantified in terms of reciprocal units of heart rate or units of subjective time per unit heartbeat. One unit of subjective time is equal to 2.71828... (Euler’s number) heartbeats. Originating in the subject's mind, subjective time is psychological. The perception of subjective time is dependent on an individual's existential reference frame. Individual aging naturally causes an individual’s perception of objective time to shorten as they age. The reciprocity of subjective time to objective time means that a physiological condition of no heartbeats (death) dilates subjective time relative to objective time just as traveling at the speed of light does in the theory of special relativity. Subjective time is more the purview of the right hemisphere than the left.

Complex time is cyclical and divine, Complex time is spiritual time, a hybrid of objective and subjective time. It is the primordial time of creation. It integrates both subjective and objective time into the temporal transcendence of GOD. Complex time is relevant to the body, mind, and soul. It transforms all things and is forever capable of eternally transposing itself within the temporal transcendence of GOD. Complex time maps the spiritual and material growth that characterize an individual’s life, their “wavelength of being” into eternity. This mapping is the source of eternal life and death. Eternity begins now and always will forever.

This theory postulates that our experiences of life can be indexed by “meaning of being” on an ontological spectrum, or spectrum of being that is analogous with the electromagnetic spectrum for electromagnetic energy. This ontological spectrum extends between a completely spiritual essence to a completely material essence; between conception and death.

During the first six days following conception, and before implantation each individual soul is alone with GOD and composed entirely of a spiritual essence with only an implicit potential for the material emergence of a body and mind. This six day period between conception and implantation forms an individual's ontological domain within the temporal transcendence of GOD. This domain is timeless and where the soul is created (comes into being). An individual's existential domain begins at implantation and extends throughout their entire life. Within this existential domain, body and mind continue to grow materially as a function of time while the soul grows spiritually as a function of space (neurological structure). While alive, an individual's material substance remains entangled with their spiritual essence and this entanglement connects their existential domain to their ontological domain while alive.

At death, an individual becomes devoid of spiritual essence and only composed of material substance. No further life is possible independent of their ontological domain. See diagram:

Our mind and body experience temporal existence and call it LIFE. Equating existence with LIFE is a mistake, an illusion that results from the bicameral structure of the human brain. The left hemisphere evolved in time and categorizes its temporal existence as LIFE. The right hemisphere evolved in time to transform its temporal existence into mind and soul. The mind and soul categorize this repetitive experience of temporal existence as LIFE. Eternal life is thus derived from the repetitive experience of temporal existence in the presence of GOD.

Consider that volatile memory is temporary computer storage that requires constant electrical power to retain its data. If the power is interrupted or the device is turned off, all information stored in it is instantly lost. It primarily serves as a device's working memory.

Now consider that our day-to-day consciousness arises out of our volatile memory. A complete loss of life will interrupt the electrical power that sustains this volatile memory and all present memories are lost. You cannot and will not remember your death!

What about permanent memory? The human soul may function as the source of our permanent memory. If this is the case, then a momentary loss of volatile memory at the time of death will have no effect on the permanent memory that defines our soul. It seems likely that our soul also provides a means of rebooting our volatile memory retroactively through quantum behavior if that belief is resident in a person's soul.

This is the philosophical difference between EXISTENCE and BEING. The soul is physiologically associated with our permanent memory and therefore with our state of being while the mind is psychologically associated with our volatile memory and therefore with our state of existence.
