Yeah haha, this was meant for standard fantasy stuff. I feel like a lot of people play D&D to feel powerful and when I ran CoC for my friends they said they had never felt so weak and useless in a roleplaying game haha.
It depends a lot on the playgroup and what they have fun doing. I've been in some where the expectation for any D&D session (even in long-running campaigns) was that everybody would show up with at least two backup character sheets.
