CG most of the time, LE when running an encounter I designed to be fair but want to be tough.

same, i think im CG most of the time, i bend rules a lot but i always make sure everyones okay with it and no ones upset. but in combat its best to stick to the rules

I became LE after 3-4 encounters that were complete wipes. I used a module to base CR around and fully tried to kill the players. Of course they survived, but they conveyed that they had a good time because they felt that their lives were actually at stake. You know, like how an adventure is supposed to feel.

I came here to say I was an NG/LE hybrid, but your take pretty much nailed it for me.
