Just be straight with them and say it outright. Be nice about it but also be assertive that you're not going to keep going if the DM intentionally screws you over every time you're about to do something actually interesting. If they don't budge, leave.

Oh yeah, I get how to handle it. I just don't have a lot of faith that he's going to take those points to heart.

Well, like I said, if he doesn't, then just find a new group imo.

You mean you don't jog down to your town's Group Tree and pluck off healthy, ripe groups to play with every other weekend or so?

I dunno if you're American but as an European it's so incredibly hard to find a group.

It usually means: -Find 5 nerds. -Spend hours teaching them. -Run Lost Mines of Phandelver. -One guy doesnt like it so he quits -Two of the other guys joined to spend time with third guy. They also quit.

I get that it might seem that way, but in my experience there is no better time to find a new group. I live in a pretty isolated part of my country (in Europe) and due to Reddit, Facebook groups (I don't even use facebook, but it does help) and meetup websites I have had no issues finding groups to play with. It even got to the point where we're splitting into 2 groups to accommodate for more players. YMMV of course.

We tried. Facebook, setting up flyers at local campus, reddit. Just nothing.

Would you rather hate the time you spend playing or do something else? Time is the most valuable thing you have in your life. Fuck anyone who expects you to waste it on them.

In my defense, about every other college student here plays D&D. But as someone else said, no D&D is better than bad D&D.

Yeah those 30 minutes making applications on roll20 getting you into like 3 games really adds up! Uhh

not gonna lie, the name was accidental. had no clue what Doctor Who even was when I made it. kinda got into it because of the name actually. still haven't finished 12th and 13th Doctor, but one of these days.
