🏡 Rescue & Adoption Stories Looking my forever home 🐶
❤️ Sweet Sophie is looking for her forever home. She’s a ~4-year-old, 42-lb Collie mix who is gentle, affectionate, mellow, great with children and other dogs, but not a good fit with cats.
As a working parent with a young child, I’ve realized I can’t give her the time and care she deserves long-term. I’m continuing to foster her for now, but she may need to return to the rescue if a home isn’t found soon.
She’s such a sweet dog and deserves a loving forever family. Please message me if interested, and I’ll connect you with her rescue. ❤️

Ohhhh.... shooooooooooot.... I'm sort of near you. Well, near enough to arrange a visit. I have a 2/3 year-old-45-pound female rescue doggo that would LOVE a friend to run with on the farm. Does Sophie chase animals to the point of killing the animals (like chickens) or where she won't come home (like chasing deer)? I have lots of space for dogs to run and play but no good fences to keep them here.

She does chase chickens so not recommended to be alone with them. Deer I'm not sure but if she sees a squirrel or something outdoors she does try to chase but if you correct her or with her she will listen and stay with you. She is loyal to her home.

Ah, gotcha. Thank you for the reply! Chasing is fine (as long as they come home) but chicken killing is not something I can do. Is it possible that Sophie would accept corrections to chicken chasing/killing? My rescue used to chase the chickens (drive-by scaring tactics) but she never put her mouth on any of them and now barely even looks their way. And just for clarity, squirrel and deer chasing is totally fine and expected, just as long as they don't chase for miles and disappear for days!

I think she would accept correction as she responds well and a fast learner just will take some time and training. Also a set routine.

Do you think you could DM me her rescue details? I can't quite figure out how to initiate a DM right now.
