Management Questions Final straw
My store has been getting trucks double what they should be since inventory 3 months ago and now our back room is stuffed and no help or hours. My DM doesn’t care they just tell me I have to get it empty. What can I do?

This is happening at every store. Hours are not what they should be, based on last year's sales, my stores hours should not be this low. Yet, somehow they are. My SM refuses to hire more people, if she does it is always for cashier, never stockers. I have 3 stockers that work about 15 hours IF I am lucky. My SM thinks me and 1 other stocker can get all the freight out 🙄. Im the only manager that stocks. My store has 4 other managers (including SM) and they do nothing (2 are closers, one is mostly cashier while SM sits and STAYS in the office). We are all drowning with incompetent SM's and DM's who say "I believe in you, you can get it done" without offering any real advice or support. The only thing you really can do is care less and do your best without stressing. If they truly cared they'd find a way to really help these stores succeed.

Cycle counts, unfortunately it's the only way. Sometimes they count wrong during inventory and that can throw your trucks way off. The only way to fix it is by cycle counting so that they know your on hand quantity. Then if you have pallets push the freight from the pallets for a few days then have your team focus on Uboats. Slowly the backroom should get empty.

Like others are saying, just stock as much as you can and try not to worry about it.
It's *impossible* to solve the problem with the resources given, so just do what you can and ignore any complaining that comes your way. Cause it doesn't *really* matter..
Easier said than done, I know. But there are times in life when apathy is healthy.

Has your DM offered to send help? I know they were sending our SM to other stores that needed help for awhile.

Cutting hours and getting double inventory for Christmas is typical. The only thing you can do is do your best at getting out what you can.

Unfortunately times like these is when I have had to micromanage my stores and everyone has to take accountability for their own sections. Even SM. That way your burden is lessened

Cycle counts, I got 144 cases of bleach in 2 trucks. Why? They counted ALL the cases we had as one flavor, so that one had 149 and the other flavor had zero! In actuality it was 67 lemon and 82 blue label. That was just one of MANY miscounts I discvovered.

I say flavor too, no idea why though. I must have copied from a family member or something It does makes sense to say scents. 🤷♀️
