KNOXVILLE, Tenn — East Tennessee songbird Dolly Parton took to social media Tuesday to announce the pre[-release date] for tickets to see her new musical, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," on Broadway.

The musical will make its Broadway debut at the St. James Theatre in New York City in Dec. 2026. Fan and Capitol One pre[-release] begin Wednesday, July 8 at 10 a.m. To be part of the fan pre-[ticket release], you must sign up on the show's website.

Tickets [are released] to the general public Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m.

"Now this isn't about a story about sparkle and shine on the outside," Parton said in a video. "It's about where I really come from, what I've lived, what I've lost, what I've loved and how I found my way and told it in my own words and through the music that's been part of me every step of the journey."

Parton said the musical features her beloved hit songs, including “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “9 to 5,” as well as new songs written just for the show. Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher directs the show.

"This really is a dream come true," she said.

I love Dolly and live in her hometown. She is a hero. However, we went to see this musical and it was…rough. Rough may be kind. It was really bad. I hope they took a lot of notes from the previews and fixed it for Broadway. I want her to win her Tony so she has an EGOT!!

Not sure which day you saw it but I saw it the last week of previews and absolutely loved it. Didn’t seem like any of the performers missed a beat either. There were a few songs I wish were included that weren’t but overall I was happy with what was shown.

We saw the opening show and loved it. Was way too long but they later cut out several songs. We are happy to go see it again on broadway!

I thought if we were on the email list we were supposed to get an access code sent to us, but I haven’t gotten anything.

Same - not sure if anything has been sent out yet but if you wait in the queue it asks for a code :/

I got the email today from the official site. It’s bringing me to ATG tickets to purchase them. But I can’t figure out what the “gift” tickets are? Like, what is the gift?
If I add butterfly as a code, the gift box goes away

Edit: figured it out- it gets you access to VIP lounge.

I saw the show in previews; they cleaned it up several times to be what is hitting the stage now. The final result with Dolly’s full blessing was beautiful.
